RE: Top Hive Earners by Category | Authors, Curators, Witnesses, DAO, HBD Interest | November 2023

I think they require significantly different levels of resources... being a witness and tapping into the DHF fund really do require you to be very well known and trusted on the Hive blockchain, it's really hard for new people to get traction even if they have some really good ideas.

Earning by curation is much easier, but you really do need significant Hive Power to really earn this way.

Writing blog posts requires the fewest resources and popularity, and while being popular does help, there are services that specifically look for good posts created by people who don't regularly get a lot of votes.

All of that is true. Great insight. I was just responding to that one chart that shows who the top earners are from all earning sources. Of course, all of them are big accounts so it bears to reason that the biggest earners are going to be those with the largest HP reserves.

Another thing that impacts these earnings, I think, is that many of these accounts with large HP reserves are time constrained. Because they're popular and busy doing other things like running witness nodes, developing dapps, etc., they have less time for authoring posts.
