Hey amigos, que tal están?, un largo tiempo sin hacer caminatas cortas y esta vez decidí hacerlo, ha pasado un año desde que escale esta montaña cuya caminata es un poco sencilla, pero se complica en varias partes de la misma montaña, para personas que no están acostumbradas a ella puede tomarse unos 50 min.
En lo mas alto se encuentra una antena de telecomunicaciones, meses atrás no funcionaba y estaba abandonada, así que quería verla mas de cerca y explorar un poco el entorno, para esta caminata me acompañaron dos pequeños amigos que se sabían el camino mas rápido, ya que el otro toma mas de 1h.
Hey friends, how are you, a long time without doing short hikes and this time I decided to do it, it has been a year since I climbed this mountain whose hike is a bit simple, but it gets complicated in several parts of the same mountain, for people who are not accustomed to it can take about 50 min.
At the top is a telecommunications antenna, months ago it was not working and was abandoned, so I wanted to see it more closely and explore the environment a little, for this hike I was accompanied by two little friends who knew the fastest way, since the other takes more than 1h.
Desde la montaña se observa el pequeño campo de agricultores, donde se observan las siembras, invernaderos y estadios de beisbol, además de eso el nombre de la montaña o pequeño cerro se llama "cerro del medio" literalmente por que esta entre otras dos montañas. No hay muchas casas en esta zona, es un pequeño pueblo, sin embargo es importante por las actividades agrícolas que aquí se manejan.
From the mountain you can see the small field of farmers, where you can see the crops, greenhouses and baseball stadiums, besides that the name of the mountain or small hill is called "cerro del medio" literally "middle hill" because it is between two other mountains. There are not many houses in this area, it is a small town, however it is important for the agricultural activities that are managed here.
El pie de la montaña no posee mucha vegetación y las rocas son un poco sueltas como erosionadas, pero entre mas altura tenemos se comienzan a ver mas plantas, cactus, arboles de semi-árido como el cují, plantas de flor amarillo, y una de las que mas me llamo la atención fue el "orégano de monte" una clase de orégano muy distinta a la que compramos en los super mercados pero con su mimos olor y sabor.
En este punto teníamos 15-20 min de caminata ya se puede ver un poco mas el pueblo, mas espacio las plantas de cemento y plantas procesadoras de carne entre otras que le dan vida económica a esta zona.
The foot of the mountain does not have much vegetation and the rocks are a little loose as eroded, but the higher we get the more plants we begin to see, cactus, semi-arid trees like the cují, yellow flowering plants, and one of the most striking was the "mountain oregano" a kind of oregano very different from the one we buy in super markets but with the same smell and taste.
At this point we had 15-20 min walk and you can see a little more of the town, more space cement plants and meat processing plants among others that give economic life to this area.
Finalmente entramos al lugar donde hay mayor vegetación, aunque son arboles con espinas, desde aquí solo resta caminar otros 10 min para llegar a la estación de la antena, el viento golpea fuerte en este parte de la montaña. Creímos que no habíamos tomado el camino correcto ya que mucha gente no camina por aquí y al parecer no había paso por la vegetación sin embargo, pasamos como pudimos teniendo realmente cuidado con las púas en el suelo y a los alrededores.
Finally we entered the place where there is more vegetation, although they are trees with thorns, from here it only remains to walk another 10 min to reach the antenna station, the wind hits hard in this part of the mountain. We thought we had not taken the right path since many people do not walk here and apparently there was no way through the vegetation, however, we passed as we could being really careful with the spikes on the ground and the surroundings.
Finalmente al estar arriba en lo mas alto descansamos un poco, y allí mismo se puede ver la autopista principal que conecta con la ciudad, otros pueblos e incluso otros estados. En el horizonte se puede ver la ciudad y sus edificaciones (esta a 20-25min en auto), son unos 27km de distancia, además de esto pudimos ver por fin la estación de la antena, que estaba cerrada, pero por dentro las maquinas estaban franjando ya que se escuchaba un generador dentro.
Finally at the top we rested a little, and right there you can see the main highway that connects with the city, other towns and even other states. In the horizon you can see the city and its buildings (it is 20-25min by car), it is about 27km away, besides this we could finally see the antenna station, which was closed, but inside the machines were working because we could hear a generator inside.
Solo tomamos unas fotografías al rededor de la antena y algunas donde se observa por completo el pueblo de "cerro del medio", pude enfocar algunos invernaderos en las fotografías.
We only took some pictures around the antenna and some where we could see the whole town of "cerro del medio", I was able to focus some greenhouses in the pictures.
Caminamos otro tramo a un sitio que le llaman "la caja de agua" básicamente es un tanque de concreto que almacena el agua que distribuirán a las casas del pueblo, al rededor de este sitio hay mucha mas vegetación pues hay agua en la zona almacenada, y hay unas pequeñas fugas en la tubería, antes no funcionaba cuando estuve aquí estaba mucho mas seco, pero fue reparada recientemente y esta funcionando.
We walk another stretch to a place called "the water box" basically it is a concrete tank that stores the water that will be distributed to the houses of the village, around this place there is much more vegetation because there is water in the stored area, and there are some small leaks in the pipe, before it did not work when I was here it was much drier, but it was repaired recently and it is working.
Finalmente fue momento de regresar y el descenso fue mucho mas rápido, tardamos mucho menos en bajar, además que lo hicimos por otro camino que al parecer es mas cercano pero mucho mas empinado, en el regreso vimos algunos conejos, pero demasiado rápidos para fotografiarlos.
Este es un pequeño entrenamiento personal para la siguiente aventura que hare, la cual será visitar un parque nacional estilo bosque húmedo, el parque se llama Henri Pittier y tengo el presentimiento que haremos caminatas largas.
Finally it was time to return and the descent was much faster, it took us much less time to go down, plus we did it by another road that apparently is closer but much steeper, on the way back we saw some rabbits, but too fast to photograph them.
This is a little personal training for the next adventure I will do, which will be to visit a rainforest style national park, the park is called Henri Pittier and I have the feeling that we will do long hikes.
