Hola comunidad de #hive! Por muy increíble que nos parezca un Dictador en la antigua Roma era una figura dentro de las Instituciones políticas del período de la república, donde semejanzas con los actuales no hay casi ninguna sólo abuso de poder.
Para empezar que el Dictador era un Magistrado y por lo tanto un funcionario público donde sus atribuciones conferidas a su cargo son mayores o menores dependiendo de su facultad, bajo la figura del dictador era mayor su atribución porque se creía que tenían facultad de interpretar la voluntad de los dioses...pero no nos confundamos, el dictador era un cargo transitorio, pero que se diferenciaban de las demás magistraturas en que éste no los elegía el pueblo y de allí su similitud con los ya tan conocidos dictadores de nuestro mundo actual.
La gratuidad en el cargo es otro factor importantísimo, sus cargos eran honoríficos y por ende gratuitos, es decir el magistrado dictador debía tener sus propias fortunas y estar preparado para subsidiar los gastos al asumir ese cargo; en este sentido me gustaría ver un dictador actual bajo este panorama, creo que no existieran.
El dictador tenia una temporalidad de seis (6) meses y su función la ejercía en condiciones extraordinarias de necesidad pública cuando se trataba de retorno a la unidad de poder ; para entender mejor es como un reseteo de la unidad política porque existe un peligro militar para Roma o cuando ésta cayó en en un clima de conflicitivdad en discordias civiles, la forma en el que el senado (consejo de ancianos caracterizados no por su edad sino sabiduria, compuesto por 100 a 200 hombres) resolvía era nombrar un magistrado Dictator bajo un acto ritual por un consul siendo el consul la jefatura suprema de Roma que ejercía el poder bajo la figura de la Republica (el Imperio es otra etapa de Roma).

Así el Dictator ejercía bajo su gobernanza funciones específicas, concretas, para nada a lo que un dictador hoy en día ejerce...por ejemplo reunía comicios, organizaba ferias religiosas, juegos públicos (esa actividad formaba parte de la producción de riqueza y a la vez entretenía al pueblo) y el mas importante para dirimir disputas civiles con otras regiones con el uso militar, es por ello que su figura quedó en desuso, tenía una brecha donde se uso el poder con abuso bajo el amparo de esta figura y teniendo todo este relato pensamos.....siendo la antigua Roma un periodo tan lejano y los romanos comprendieron que esa figura esta plagada de vicios, variantes, vacíos que dirigen irremediablemente al abuso de poder, a la dominación de nuestras libertades ¿porqué siglos después tenemos aun esta figura en nuestros paises? acaso necesitamos ser menos presidencialistas y mas parlamentarista? El hecho de que tengamos la información de la republica romana a nuestro alcance donde se lo debemos a los glosadores y postglosadores, monjes que en la edad media se dedicaron a transcribir todos estos maravillosos escritos de los romanos y muchos se jugaron la vida cuando era prohibido...no los honramos en la actualidad al tener dictadores en el mundo, es incomprensible.
