🌟Buenas a todos🌟, amigos de #Hive y #Nerday! En esta ocasión les comparto esta ilustración que realicé de una de mis artistas favoritas: Lana Del Rey!🌹. Les cuento que me sentí inspirado en el momento que vi el video de la canción “Love”, en su era de Lust For Life, ya que es un video que representa el amor que ella siente hacia sus fanáticos, y lo que representa el amor en general.
🌟Hello everyone🌟, #Hive and #Nerday friends! This time I share with you this illustration that I made of one of my favorite artists: Lana Del Rey!🌟. I tell you that I was inspired by the moment I saw the video for the song “Love”, in her Lust For Life, since it is a video that represents the love she feels towards her fans, and what it represents love in general.
En el momento que vi el video me encantó la estética y la forma en la que ella se muestra feliz hacia el mundo, por eso decidí plasmar ese sentimiento en esta ilustración.
At the moment I saw the video I loved the aesthetics and the way in which she is happy towards the world, so I decided to capture that feeling in this illustration.

Procedimiento
Process
Primero, inicié realizando un pequeño boceto a mano alzada, utilizando lápiz sobre cartulina blanca. En este boceto se plasma la idea principal, que posteriormente es mejorada en digital.
First, I started by making a small freehand sketch, using pencil on white cardboard. In this sketch the main idea is captured, which is later digitally improved.
Luego se digitaliza el boceto mediante el uso del programa Adobe Illustrator, y sus herramientas como la pluma, que permite realizar trazos vectoriales con precisión y tienen un acabado bastante técnico. Para mejorar el boceto, decidí completar la parte de abajo del cabello, y agregar unas rosas, que son muy simbólicas a lo largo de la carrera musical de Lana del Rey, como su corona de rosas en su era Born To Die, entre otras.
The sketch is then digitized using the Adobe Illustrator program, and its tools such as the pen, which allows vector strokes to be made with precision and has a fairly technical finish. To improve the sketch, I decided to complete the lower part of the hair, and add some roses, which are very symbolic throughout Lana del Rey's musical career, such as her crown of roses in her Born To Die, among others.
Una vez terminado el boceto en illustrator, utilicé el programa Sketchbook Pro 7, para realizar el coloreado de la ilustración. Para rellenar de color cada parte de la ilustración utilicé la herramienta “varita mágica”, que permite seleccionar un área específica y aplicar el color de manera cómoda y sin dibujar en zonas no deseadas. Es muy útil y me permite ahorrar tiempo para la aplicación de colores base.
Once the sketch was finished in Illustrator, I used the Sketchbook Pro 7 program to color the illustration. To fill each part of the illustration with color, I used the “magic wand” tool, which allows you to select a specific area and apply the color comfortably and without drawing in unwanted areas. It is very useful and saves me time for applying base colors.
Para las sombras, el programa cuenta con muchos pinceles que difuminan muy bien los tonos, en este caso utilice un pincel de cerdas redondo sintético, y con el mouse de la computadora fui aplicando las sombras poco a poco hasta lograr un resultado que me gustara. Para las sombras del cabello utilicé un pincel web para difuminar, este pincel ayuda a que el difuminado sea en punta y se aprecie el efecto del cabello. Los colores utilizados para las sombras fueron degradaciones de los tonos bases, para lograr una armonía cromática.
For the shadows, the program has many brushes that blur the tones very well, in this case I used a synthetic round bristle brush, and with the computer mouse I applied the shadows little by little until I achieved a result that I liked. For the shadows of the hair I used a web brush to blend, this brush helps the blur to be pointed and the effect of the hair is appreciated. The colors used for the shadows were degradations of the base tones, to achieve a chromatic harmony.
En el gif pueden observar la diferencia a través del proceso, desde el boceto digitalizado hasta el resultado final, donde por último agregué las luces a la ilustración y quedé muy satisfecho con el acabado.
In the gif you can see the difference through the process, from the digitized sketch to the final result, where I finally added the lights to the illustration and was very satisfied with the finish.
Como experiencia personal, solía pensar que no lograría realizar ilustraciones de buena calidad con solo una laptop y un mouse, ya que limita mucho para el movimiento de los trazos, y una tableta gráfica es lo ideal para esto. Sin embargo decidí intentarlo, pues mis ganas eran mayores, y me sorprendí con los resultados que he logrado. Es por esto que los animo a motivarse a aprender cosas nuevas, si les gusta la ilustración y quieren aprender pero sienten que no cuentan con los equipos necesarios, les digo que no es imposible realizar buenas ilustraciones con una laptop y un mouse, se requiere dedicación y amor por el arte💕🎨.
From personal experience, I used to think that I would not be able to produce good quality illustrations with just a laptop and a mouse, as it limits a lot to the movement of the strokes, and a graphics tablet is ideal for this. However, I decided to try it, because my desire was greater, and I was surprised with the results that I have achieved. That is why I encourage you to be motivated to learn new things, if you like illustration and want to learn but feel that you do not have the necessary equipment, I tell you that it is not impossible to make good illustrations with a laptop and a mouse, dedication is required and love of art💕🎨.
