Hoy les traigo una nueva aventura y como ya lo leyeron en el título del post, es sobre mi primer viaje en ferry y esto comienza así.
Esto ocurrió en el año 2014, fue por un viaje de trabajo ya que tengo un camión tipo furgón y me contrataron para una mudanza desde Maracay, Aragua hasta la Isla de Margarita. En esta oportunidad tomamos el ferry en la ciudad de Puerto la Cruz estado Anzoátegui, con la empresa naval nacional Conferry. Allí mismo en el puerto hicimos la compra de los boletos y el pago por transportar el camión.
Esta empresa conferry por ser propiedad del gobierno es la más económica para estos traslados para margarita, hay otras alternativas con otras empresas como lo son navibus, gran cacique y otras que realmente no recuerdo su nombre en este momento.
Llegamos ese día al puerto alrededor de las 4 de la tarde, tuvimos que esperar unas 7 horas para poder subirnos al ferry ya que en ese momento estaba habilitado uno solo para lo que era el traslado de los carros de carga. El viaje duro unas 6 horas desde puerto la cruz hasta margarita, las condiciones de la embarcación eran malas, había muchas señales de oxido por todos lados, los camarotes no estaban en su mejor momento, se notaba que tenía mucho tiempo sin hacerle algún mantenimiento.
De regreso de Margarita a puerto la cruz la experiencia fue peor, Ya en el puerto punta de piedra en la isla, tuvimos que esperar alrededor de 5 a 6 días para poder tomar el ferry, había demasiado atraso. Este problema existía solo con el ferry para los camiones porque para el traslado de personas con su vehículo, si tenía mayor flujo.
Allí en punta de piedra afortunadamente había una instalación con aire acondicionado para que los choferes pudieran pasar el rato y refrescarse, contaba con televisión y baños con duchas, al rededor del sitio había locales de venta de comidas y bebidas, la verdad es que fue una larga espera.
Ya cuando por fin nos tocó embarcar para el regreso a puerto la cruz, la alegría era demasiada grande. El retorno duro lo mismo, unas 6 horas. Pero todo no fue tan malo, el paisaje que se veía era grandioso. Lastimosamente en ese viaje no tuve la oportunidad de ver los delfines, pero dicen que es fabuloso sin embargo como ya mencioné el paisaje y la experiencia de estar en el medio del mar fue fantástica.
No sé cómo estará ese asunto con el ferry para los camiones hoy en día, espero que haya mejorado porque la verdad es un viaje muy cansón.

Today I bring you a new adventure and as you read in the title of the post, it is about my first ferry trip and this starts like this.
This happened in 2014, it was for a work trip since I have a van-type truck and I was hired for a move from Maracay, Aragua to Margarita Island. In this opportunity, we took the ferry to the city of Puerto la Cruz, Anzoátegui state, with the national naval company Conferry. Right there in the port we bought the tickets and paid for the transportation of the truck.
This company Conferry is the most economical for these transfers to Margarita, there are other alternatives with other companies such as Navibus, Gran Cacique, and others that I do not remember their name at the moment.
We arrived that day at the port around 4 p.m., we had to wait about 7 hours to get on the ferry because at that time we were enabled only one for what was the transfer of cargo cars. The trip took about 6 hours from Puerto La Cruz to Margarita, the conditions of the boat were bad, there were many signs of rust everywhere, the cabins were not at their best, it was noticeable that it had a long time without any maintenance.
On the way back from Margarita to Puerto La Cruz, the experience was worse. Already in the port of Punta de Piedra on the island, we had to wait about 5 to 6 days to take the ferry, there was too much delay. This problem existed only with the ferry for trucks because for the transfer of people with their vehicles, there was a greater flow.
There in Punta de Piedra fortunately there was an air-conditioned facility for the drivers to hang out and cool off, it had television and bathrooms with showers, around the site there were places to sell food and drinks, the truth is that it was a long wait.
When we finally had to embark on the return to Puerto La Cruz, the joy was too great. The return trip took the same, about 6 hours. But everything was not so bad, the scenery was great. Unfortunately on that trip I did not have the opportunity to see the dolphins, but they say it is fabulous but as I mentioned the scenery and the experience of being in the middle of the sea was fantastic.
I don't know-how if the ferry thing for the trucks nowadays, I hope it has improved because it is a very tiring trip.

Antes mis padres solían viajar mucho para margarita, hace añales y la experiencia era super grata, por esa razón yo siempre quise ir y viajar en barco pero... francamente después de leer tu post ya no estoy tan segura. Ojalá que haya mejorado la situación hoy en día como dices. Muchas gracias por compartir tu experiencia.
P.D: Yo también he escuchado que es maravilloso ver a los delfines e incluso uno que otro ballenato (crías de ballenas)
Hola amiga pzz bueno existen otras embarcaciones las cuales si están en mejores condiciones que ese que mostré. Pero igual la experiencia es única
