Caminata de Ocumare de la Costa a Honor a San Sebastián [ES] // Hike from Ocumare de la Costa to Honor San Sebastian [EN]

Hola amigos bienvenidos sean nuevamente.

En esta oportunidad les hablare sobre una caminata que mas que eso es una tradición que ya llevas muchos años y trata como lo dice en el titulo, sobre la caminata en honor a San Sebastián en Ocumare de la Costa, Aragua, Venezuela.

Esta tiene un recorrido de 42 kilómetros el cual inicia en el Limón, Maracay. Allí atraviesas todo lo que es el Parque Nacional Henri Pittier. Inicia al rededor de las 5:30am a 6am, yo en lo personal me tomo 8 horas en culminarla, todo va a depender de tu condición física y de la resistencia que tengas ya que es muy exigente, iniciando tiene una subida de unos 18 kilómetros, Se ascienden unos 600 metros de altura que es hasta llegar a la cumbre y es resto un largo descenso de unos 24 kilómetros y ya llegando a la meta es un trayecto plano, Siempre es realizada el ultimo sábado del mes de enero.

Después de haber recorrido unos largos 31km se llega al pueblo de la trilla, allí muchos aprovechan de descansar y relajarse un poco ya que a un lado del camino esta un rio y otros aprovechan de darse un baño o sencillamente para remojar sus pies cansados.

Lo que me gusta de esta caminata es su ambiente, la verdad que es muy fresco y todo el trayecto estarás cubierto con los arboles lo que hace que no te sofoques con el calor del sol; la logística de la misma de verdad es muy buena, en todo momento tienes atención medica si lo llegas a necesitar, transporte para las personas que por alguna razón ya no puedan continuar, cuentan con puntos de hidratación y de snacks como mandarina, barras nutricionales, sandia(patilla), cambures(banana) y unas palabras de alientos para dar animo y poder culminar esta larga travesía.

Para esta caminata dicen presente muchísimas personas al rededor de las 6000 y creo que quedo corto con esa cantidad, entre niños, jóvenes y adultos acuden a esta tradición. Algunos lo hacen por convicción religiosa o cumpliendo una promesa. Unos aprovechan la oportunidad para hacer un excelente ejercicio, Otros son atraídos por la posibilidad de cruzar a pie el Parque.

La verdad que es una experiencia muy gratificante y ya cuanto estas llegando a la meta y ver el letrero que indica su finalización, no hay nada mas emocionante que eso. Este año se realizada el día de mañana 29/01/2022, lastimosamente no estoy en las condiciones para poder realizarla pero como me encantaría, ya la he realizado unas 4 veces y siempre la he culminado.

Si son de aquí de Venezuela, se las recomiendo se van a llevar un buen recuerdo

This time I will tell you about a walk that more than that is a tradition that already takes many years and is as it says in the title, about the walk-in in honor of San Sebastian in Ocumare de la Costa, Aragua, Venezuela.

This is a 42 kilometer walk that starts in El Limón, Maracay. There you go through the Henri Pittier National Park. It starts around 5:30 am to 6 am, I take me 8 hours to finish it, everything will depend on your physical condition and the resistance you have because it is very demanding, starting has a climb of about 18 kilometers, you climb about 600 meters high that is to reach the summit and the rest is a long descent of about 24 kilometers and reaching the goal is a flat route, it is always done the last Saturday of January.

After having traveled a long 31km you arrive at the village of La Trilla, there many take the opportunity to rest and relax a little because on one side of the road there is a river and others take the opportunity to take a bath or simply to soak their tired feet.

What I like about this hike is the atmosphere, the truth is that it is very cool and all the way you will be covered with trees which makes you do not suffocate with the heat of the sun; The logistics of it is very good, at all times you have medical attention if you need it, transportation for people who for some reason can no longer continue, have hydration points and snacks such as tangerine, nutritional bars, watermelon (patilla), bananas and a few words of encouragement to give encouragement and to complete this long journey.

For this walk, many people are present around 6000 and I think that I fall short with that amount, between children, youth and adults come to this tradition. Some do it for religious conviction or to fulfill a promise. Some take the opportunity to do an excellent exercise, others are attracted by the possibility of crossing the park on foot.

The truth is that it is a very rewarding experience and as soon as you reach the finish line and see the sign indicating its completion, there is nothing more exciting than that. This year it will take place tomorrow 29/01/2022, unfortunately, I am not in the conditions to be able to do it but I would love to, I have already done it 4 times and I have always finished it.
