Tomé la iniciativa de realizar un huerto en casa, sin importar la extensión de tierra que puedas tener en tu casa, eso no es limitante.
Lo primero fue preparar la tierra humedecerla, colocarle un poco de fertilizante y ararla con un rastrillo.
Luego seleccionar las plantas a sembrar, tomando en cuenta que sean de fácil acceso, bajo mantenimiento ajustadas al espacio.

Al transcurrir poco tiempo de haber emprendido el huerto, hoy puedo mostrarte parte de los resultados.

I took the initiative to make a vegetable garden at home, no matter how much land you may have, that is not a limiting factor.
The first thing to do was to prepare the soil, moisten it, add a little fertiliser and plough it with a rake.
Then select the plants to be planted, taking into account that they should be easy to access, low maintenance and adapted to the space.

A short time after starting the garden, today I can show you some of the results.

Yuca

La yuca es un tubérculo el cual he podido cultivar y cosechar en períodos de 6 meses.
Se siembran trozos del tronco de la planta con longitud de 30 centímetros aproximadamente. La distancia de siembra es de 60 centímetros entre plantas.
Al comerla nos aporta vitamina K, ayuda a mantener sanos los huesos y vitamina B6.
Generalmente la consumimos cocida con queso y mantequilla o como guarnición en otros platos.

Cassava is a tuber which I have been able to grow and harvest in 6-month periods.
Pieces of the stem of the plant with a length of 30 centimetres are appropriately sown. The planting distance is 60 centimetres between plants.
Eating it provides us with vitamin K, helps to maintain healthy bones and vitamin B6.
It is usually eaten cooked with cheese and matequilla or as a garnish for other dishes.

Topochos

El topocho, lo hemos cosechado cada 4 meses, actualmente hay 4 plantas en proceso. Bien lo podemos utilizar para cenar o desayunar. Posee vitaminas A, B1, B2, C, E, potasio, fósforo y magnesio.
Requiere abundante riego de agua.

The topocho is harvested every 4 months, currently there are 4 plants in process. We can use it for dinner or breakfast. It has vitamins A, B1, B2, C, E, potassium, phosphorus and magnesium.
It requires abundant water irrigation.

Plátanos

Cada vez que una planta de plátano o topocho da un racimo y pasa el tiempo para cortarlo la planta se debe cortar y sacar para dejarle espacio a los retoños para que crezcan y puedan dar frutos

Every time a banana or plantain plant bears a bunch and the time for cutting has passed, the plant must be cut and removed to make room for the shoots to grow and bear fruit.

Ají dulce

Esa planta tiene más de 6 meses y ha dado constantemente entre 6 a 8 ajíes por semana.

This plant is more than 6 months old and has consistently yielded 6 to 8 chillies per week

These chilli plants were grown in seedlings and when they were about 15 cm high, they were transplanted into the soil.

Cebollín

Cebollin o cebolla de hoja se obtuvo a partir de los tallos que generalmente desechan sin saber que al sembrarlos y constante riego se reprodujo en buena cantidad.

Cebollin or leaf onion was obtained from the stalks that were usually discarded without knowing that by planting and constant watering it reproduced in good quantity.

Lechoza

Está sembrada a 2 metros mínimo de distancia entre otras plantas. El hoyo se hizo con una profundidad de 70 centímetros y un ancho de 50 centímetros.
Ya posee una altura de 2 metros luego de 4 meses y apenas ha comenzado a brotar frutos.

It is planted at least 2 metres apart from other plants. The hole is 70 centimetres deep and 50 centimetres wide.
It has already reached a height of 2 metres after 4 months and has just begun to sprout fruit.

Tomate

Logré germinar las semillas de tomate para luego transplantarlas al suelo con una separación de 1 metro entre si. Confieso que con ésta planta no ha sido fácil, ya es el segundo intento, su proceso es lento y algo delicado. Seré perseverante para obtener mi primera cosecha de tomates.

I managed to germinate the tomato seeds and then transplant them into the soil 1 metre apart. I have to admit that it has not been easy with this plant, it is already the second attempt, its process is slow and somewhat delicate. I will be persevering to get my first crop of tomatoes.

• Cada 15 días se remueve la arena y se le hacen surcos para el riego, se le aplican fertilizantes.
• Siempre se cuidan de cualquier plaga con fungicidas naturales.
