Beginner Battle

in Splinterlandsyesterday

Today i hopped on Splinterlands after some time away, ive ben quite busy these days, but with the holidays coming im sure id have more time for some play. Today felt like one of those days where the numbers don’t quite tell the full story. I played my first couple of matches, three matches in total won two and lost one for a start. On paper, that’s a positive result, but emotionally it didn’t feel like progress. It felt kinda stagnant, with me kinda knowing im still gonna be stuck at bronze level. The wins weren’t particularly exciting. They felt expected, almost routine, like matches I should win given my current league and little experience, one i see my opponents cards, already know how its gonna go. The loss, however, stood out more than it should have. Not because it was shocking, but because it highlighted the same limitation I keep running into, which is card depth. My opponent simply had better options, more flexibility, and stronger synergies. There was no clever workaround this time. What’s frustrating isn’t losing it’s the sense of hovering in the same place. Same league range, same rewards, same ceilings. I’m learning more about strategy and positioning, but strategy can only stretch so far when your collection is thin. I can see the plays I want to make, but I don’t always have the cards to execute them. For now, I’ll take the two wins, accept the one loss, and keep trying to playing smart. Even if growth feels slow, consistency still counts. Sometimes the log isn’t about climbing it’s about holding your ground until you’re ready to move again.
