Mage Secrets - Lost Magic.png

Another late post from the Battle Mage Secrets event, today's rule is Lost Magic, I continue with my saga to move up to the gold league in the modern format, this format is really very difficult but with practice I'm developing new moves and playing better and better, It was easy to win with this rule, let's move on to the post!

🌟 LOST MAGIC 🌟

RuleDescription
LOST MAGICMonsters with magic attack may not be used in battles.

Lost Magic prevents monsters with magical attacks from entering the match, which means shielding everyone is the best move, at least 1 shield will already neutralize an attack, in addition to any ability that protects from physical attacks such as Shield, you don't have to worry about magical attacks much less defend yourself from this great threat, because the match will be pure brawl with physical shots on all sides.

My main strategy here is to protect myself in some way from physical damage, since only this damage will be in the match, a very robust tank with a lot of speed or Shield will be able to hold the front line well, for the summoner I generally choose one with armor or some damage debuff (melee or ranged) some good options are Quix the Devious and Kelya Frendul, after that everything above, is up to your strategy, and avoid using skills that focus on magical attacks 😉.

Below I put the best rules for this rule followed by the worst options 🤣.

Best Skills

AbilitiesNomeDescription
image.pngBackfireIncredible skill as there will always be physical attacks in this rule, there will always be a chance to activate this skill 😂.
image.pngBlindA debuff that reduces the accuracy of physical attacks, affects the entire opposing team and combines very well with BackFire.
image.pngProtectI already consider this to be one of the best defensive skills. Its only weak point is the magic attack, but that kind of damage won't be available here.
image.pngHeadwindsIt will reduce all ranged damage by 1, this ability can be more effective than Demoralize here, as the best units to replace magic damage in your backline would be cards with ranged attacks.
image.pngDodgeGreat increase in the chance of dodging a physical attack, its only disadvantage would be magical attacks, but this type of damage will not be present here.
image.pngPiercingThere is a high chance of units with armor or some bonus in this attribute appearing here, this skill will help a lot in dealing with this problem.
image.pngRustI consider it more effective than Piercing, as it removes 2 armor from all enemy units, one less problem 🤣.
image.pngShieldIt will reduce all damage in the match, super effective under the Lost Magic rule and if the unit has a few more buffs it will be very difficult to take it down.
image.pngReturn FireThere will always be a considerable amount of units that attack from a distance under this rule, this ability can quickly destroy the opposing team, without the slightest effort from your team 😂.

Worst Skills

AbilitiesNomeDescription
image.pngPhaseI'm not a big fan of this skill anymore, it doesn't seem to work for me 🤣, but in any case it's useless here since there won't be any magic damage to dodge.
image.pngSilenceAnother completely useless ability, there will be no units to receive this debuff on the field, due to the Lost Magic rule.
image.pngVoidAnother useless one, there will be no magic damage to be reduced 😅.
image.pngVoid ArmorI actually like to use this one a lot, but here it won't make any difference since the damage will always be physical.
image.pngMagic ReflectCompletely useless, it won't work, as there will be no magic damage to be reflected back to the opposing unit 😅.

⚔️ My Team ⚔️

image.png

A match with 41 mana and only the Lost Magic rule, contrary to my conventional defensive methods I fielded an extremely offensive team without any magic damage due to the Lost Magic rule, the only debuff was that of the summoner Quix, which will combine well with the Swiftness ability of the clock, it will be almost enough for my team to have a good chance of attacking first and dodging very well, then I thought of an offensive tank and one of the cards I'm loving playing the legendary Zyriel with her Weapons Training, then I put a DPS with an area attack to take a bit of armor off the units and two other units with no damage to receive Zyriel's training, and a unit to pick off any unprotected cards in the opponent's back line.
CardLineUP
image.pngSummoner : I was very unsure about the summoner, I opted for this dragon, as there would be a high chance of my opponent launching a barrage of ranged attacks against my units, and its speed debuff would help my team to attack first.
image.pngTank : Pure brute force that can retaliate against some units, it becomes a scary monster when injured, this unit is fierce 😂.
image.pngOff-Tank: Most of my mistakes are in this second position, this time I have one more doubt and I ended up placing this stealth attacker to try to catch some units in the opponent's back line, if it goes to the front line will be melted in seconds.
image.pngDPS/Tank: I'm looking forward to playing with it at lvl 3, just one card left 🤣, but for now it's very resistant to withstand a few hits if it takes the front line, it'll get a nice bonus from Zyriel.
image.pngSuport : An excellent card that I'm starting to give a chance. In addition to its absurd damage, it can make two units with no damage on their side attack with 3 damage each with its Weapons Training, absurdly strong.
image.pngDPS/Suport: The clock plays very well in this rule where there are no magic attacks, it will gain a good attack bonus thanks to Zyriel, and it also increases my team's speed, making my units almost always attack first.
image.pngDPS: It deals heavy damage and has the powerful Blast ability. In addition to dealing high damage, its role is to remove small pieces of armor from units next to the target.

🤜The Battle 🤛

image.png

Analyzing the match: My summoner's debuff was very effective, my opponent used a strong tank and will still receive the martyr bonus from Venari Marksrat, but it won't heal himself so it has a chance of falling very quickly, I have an absurd amount of damage on the table around 22 not counting the enraged tank, my opponent only has 5 damage after applying the summoner's debuff.

Round 1 - A lot of damage was dealt right from the start, my Drybone Barbarian activated rage, the first unit to fall was the Venari Marksrat, buffing the opponent's powerful angel Uriel, before the round ended my units melted the angel's armor.

image.png

Round 2 - Right at the start my Drybone Barbarian dealt an incredible 8 damage to the angel Uriel and my tank miraculously managed to dodge the angel's charged attack, after which Ajax and Uriel were knocked out, the round ending with me in an excellent lead.

image.png

Round 3 - Finally, the victory arrived, my team is very fast, with that the Barbarian took the Pegasus out of the game, soon after it was the Arbalast due to the area damage of the Prismologist, my clock applied the last blow granting me the victory.

🎊 Conclusion 🎊

My strategy worked perfectly, I was able to apply devastating damage and win the match quickly, I was lucky with the angel Uriel's attack, because the Drybone Barbarian managed to dodge this powerful hit. My summoner was very effective in his two debuffs the ranged attack hitting 3 opposing units, my tank hit hard in all its attacks, it looked like a one-man army, the Dhampir Infiltrator managed to take a unit out of the game quickly, my DPS were extremely strong, a total of 13 damage per round, with Prismologist standing out.

Lost Magic is a very cool rule, because it takes away the big question of whether or not I have to protect myself from magical damage 🤣, but to face it is simple just avoid using skills that only have an effect against magical attacks as I put in the table above, and abuse physical defenses, you have to have something at least, like reducing damage at a distance or melee, shield, armor, put this in mind before assembling the line-up that will surely come out a beautiful team.
