In this post, I will share my experience using Endura Brune.

Endura Brune

This season I took the opportunity to try out some cards from the REBELLION edition. We know that next year (2025), SPLINTERLANDS will announce a new edition and the old edition (Chaos Legion) cannot be used in MODERN Ranked battles. (This was also a question asked by one of my compatriots, whether I was prepared for this change).

One of the units from the REBELLION edition that I've been using a lot this season is Endura Brune (I think I've talked about it before, but I don't know when I talked about it). Endura Brune is a Legendary unit for Water Element in the REBELLION edition. It has Mana points totaling 9 and gets new abilities at each level.

At the first level, Endura Brune only has the AMPLIFY ability which will only be useful if there are units that have the THORNS , RETURN FIRE , or MAGIC REFLECT abilities. AMPLIFY is tasked with amplifying the damage effects of those three abilities.

At the second level, he got the SILENCE ability. SILENCE is an ability that is useful for reducing the Attack power of magic units by 1 point. Although not much, but with reduced attack power they can make the damage received less. Especially if their target has VOID which only takes half of the damage in general.

At level 3, Endura Brune has the HEADWINDS ability. If SILENCE is useful for reducing the Attack power of magic units, then HEADWINDS is useful for reducing the Attack power of ranged units. With these 2 abilities, it will be very helpful if fighting in the KEEP YOUR DISTANCE ruleset which prohibits the use of Melee units.

At the last level, Endura Brune received an additional SWIFTNESS ability. SWIFTNESS is an ability to speed up the SPEED of all your units by 1 point. By accelerating SPEED, there is a possibility that we can get a turn to attack first.

Battle

The ruleset for this battle is GOING THE DISTANCE (Only Ranged units can be used in this ruleset), WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU (all monsters in the arena receive an additional ENRAGE ability), and TIS BUT SCRATCHES (all monsters in the arena receive an additional CRIPPLE ability)

In the first round, Supply Runner, Endura Brune, and Angelic Mandarin attacked the opponent's Wave Brood. All three of them were hit back via RETURN FIRE ability though it only damaged their ARMOR. Angelic Mandarin healed some of the HP of Wave Brood who was on the opposing side. then he along with Supply Runner attacked my Wave Brood. They were also counterattacked with RETURN FIRE.

The Swamp Spitters of both sides did the same. They repaired Angelic Mandarin's ARMOR and attacked Wave Brood (despite taking damage from RETURN FIRE). The Wave Brood from both sides attacked each other and both took damage from RETURN FIRE.

My Drybone Rider failed to land his first attack on Gargoya Devil. He could only land a second attack while damaging all of Gargoya Devil's ARMOR using his SHATTER ability. Gargoya Devil attacked my Drybone Raider. Meanwhile, my opponent's Drybone Raider attacked Wave Brood, and his ARMOR was damaged by the effects of RETURN FIRE.

In the second round, Endura Brune, Supply Runner, and Angelic Mandarin managed to defeat Wave Brood even though they had to take damage from RETURN FIRE ability. Angelic Mandarin also previously healed Supply Runner's HP.

Your opponent's Supply Runner, Angelic Mandarin, and Swamp Spitter attack Wave Brood and take damage from RETURN FIRE. The opponent's Angelic Mandarin also does the same, healing the HP of Supply Runner. Meanwhile, Swamp Spitter repaired Drybone Raider's ARMOR. Wave Brood was defeated by the opponent's Drybone Raider, but he was able to deal damage using his RETURN FIRE ability.

Before being defeated, Wave Brood along with Drybone Raider failed to land their attacks on Gargoya Devil. Meanwhile, Swamp Spitter who previously repaired my Drybone Raider's ARMOR, managed to land an attack on Gargoya Devil.

In the third round, Gargoya Devil attacked my Drybone Raider. But he managed to defeat Gargoya Devil with his first attack. And in the second attack, he along with Endura Brune and Supply Runner defeated the opponent's Drybone Raider. My Angelic Mandarin attacked the opponent's Angelic Mandarin who was now in first place.

The Supply Runner and Swamp Spitter defeated my Drybone Raider. The Swamp Spitters from both sides were both repairing their ARMOR.

In the fourth round, my opponent's Angelic Mandarin was defeated by attacks from my Endura Brune, Supply Runner, and Angelic Mandarin. My opponent's Supply Runner attacked my Swamp Spitter. And each Swamp Spitter repaired their ARMOR.

Battle Review

By combining Endura Brune's AMPLIFY with Wave Brood's RETURN FIRE , the opponent takes more damage than when Wave Brood on the opponent's side uses RETURN FIRE ability. In addition, the opponent does not have HEADWINDS units so the damage he receives is greater.

And with Endura Brune in the team, it can add 1 more SPEED after the additional SPEED provided by Kelya Frendul and Supply Runner. That is also the difference between my team and the opposing team because they also have Supply Runner and Lux Vega* which also add 2 SPEED. Although not superior in HP, with Endura Brune, my side can outperform the opponent in SPEED, ATTACK POWER, and damage from RETURN FIRE ability.
