Social Media Challenge - Challenging Lvl 2 Astral Entity

Prelude
Good day to all, how are all of you doing? Hope all of you are doing good. I am back again to do another battle sharing with the community on some special and memorable matches that I encounter as I play Splinterlands. Today's sharing will be on facing a levelled up legendary summoner from the Chaos Legion series and I do know how good it can be even at Level 1. This summoner is Astral Entity

Before we dive into the match itself, let us take a look at Astral Entity:

This card has 3 amazing abilities.

1. A -2 Armour debuff, this is a pain to many whom uses protect as this totally shaves it off and exposes our lineup fully.

2. Dodge, this is one sickening ability as it improves survivability of the lineup while giving frustration to opponent facing it.

3. Resurrect, this card is able to resurrect one card from death, giving cards that have martyr to re-trigger it or important cards a 2nd chance to do their impact.

All in all, a very good summoner card that my friend @relf87 likes to use a lot.

If you have this card, it is really good, but facing this card is not as easy as it seems with that 3 abilities that it possess. So let's go right onto the battle.

Selection Analysis
With the array of rulesets that are available, it is almost becoming a very rare sight to even find a standard match with no additional ruleset.

For me, I thought with a rather high mana at my disposal, I will use my magic lineup that is spearheaded by Captain Katie and Iziar. This 2 cards will be the soul to this lineup with one doing damage and the other soaking up all the damage. To make this lineup work, a few other elements need to be present. A tank heal in Meriput Magician to heal up the front tank and a triage to heal up Iziar to keep her alive to sustain the full match. The tank I chose for this match is Drybone Barbarian which does really well with the big damage it possess. To round off the lineup, I added a Time Meddler to give more magic attack to the lineup.

On my opponent side, I faced a levelled up Astral Entity whom was accompanied with an attempt to do a double martyr through Venari Marksrat whom will boost up Legionnaire Alvar. The lineup also had Arachne Thug which is really good with striking from 2nd position followed by a Weirding Warrier which gets opportunity to charge up and strike me real hard. Last on my opponent lineup is a Helheim Demon whom will be able to taunt all my backline attack towards it and having dodge to avoid getting hit.

A very intelligent strategy put up by my opponent. Because to be honest, it is rare to see Weirding Warrior but I see how my opponent planned the lineup, everything is linked and well thought. The diversion and dodging will bring additional time for it to blast while keep Legionnaire Alvar boosted, it will be a tough nut to crack before anyone able to take it down. Nice one there, I like how you planned with all the abilities stacking together. So let's get right to the battle summary.

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - Game on. Woah, it looked like my lineup is meant to upset my opponent's grand plan. The plan was to use Helheim Demon to soak up the damage fully and stay alive for a while to let Weirding Warrior a chance to charge up and Legionnaire Alvar to get a double martyr buff. But somehow everything did not fall into place. Helheim Demon fell ahead of Marksrat and got resurrected then Drybone Barbarian strike Marksrat to only give Legionnaire Alvar a single martyr boost.

Round 2 - While the first round was really fast paced, the 2nd wasn't really as crazy as the first where there were only exchanges in blow but no casualties were observed for this round.

Round 3 - Things hasten up in this round with Legionnaire being killed by Drybone Barbarian and Captain Katie killing Weirding Warrior with the snipe. And now we have just one last card to dispose off.

Round 4, The final card in my opponent lineup was easily disposed off by my Iziar and a battle that appeared to be a tough one was surprising cleared off by lineup in a breeze. Nice victory!

Battle Summary
While my opponent did had an amazing plan that stacked the strategy nicely according to summoner abilities and card abilities in all. But an oddball strategy that I planned managed to overturn the plan and get me a victory in what seem like a very hard battle to expect especially for a levelled up legendary summoner.

Wrap Up
I think while we always play with others, we are able to pick up really nice strategies that others employ against us. While sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't. But nevertheless, who knows someday those strategy will come in useful and lead you to another memorable victory.
