Community Engagement Challenge: Paths To Power

Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's topic is on Paths to Power. As we wrap up the year and the festive, I think this is a good time of sharing to the community. I am not a super strong player but I have been here for a good 4 years and running, so I do have a decent run since then. So let's begin on today's post and hopefully the post can help our new players get a good run in and grow from strength to strength.

Campaign Is Your Starting Point

In the past, we did not have this campaign option when we first started. But thanks to the good work of the developers, we now have campaign which will guide you through the basic mechanics of the game, lineup selection and most importantly, get you your first foundation cards by completing the completing that. How cool is that? Just by completing tutorials, you get game assets.

Then you will be asking, what do I do with these cards? These cards can be used in battles and I will recommend you to start by battling in Frontier battles. This is where you play matches only with foundation cards, so that levels the playing field because no other card from main sets can be used. So what's in store for new players in frontier matches?

In the below screenshot, it shows the bronze tier rewards available to players from each of the bronze leagues.

Do also note that you can only claim daily rewards 3 times per day. And to be able to do so, you need to win 5 times to claim reward 1 time as seen below:

Tip from me is to watch your energy closely, if you claimed a reward but low on energy, do consider conserving some energy for the next day in case you run dry and unable to have enough energy for the next day. And continue doing so daily so that you start building up your collection accordingly and become stronger. As much as you can, work towards maxing out your foundation cards. They might not be the best cards available to you, but having them at higher levels will aid you in your next phase.

Ranked Modern Battles
With a slightly upgraded collection, it is time to put yourself to the test of the modern league. And by now you should be more familiar with the game just that now there will be more cards that look a little foreign to you. But do not be afraid. You can try to battle with what you have but not forgetting to continue frontier league till you got your cards maxed.

Winning might be a scarcity but every win counts because now you will be getting glint for winning games. And glint will unlock you to an array of reward cards, so start accumulating these glint to slowly do your rarity draws or even consider pulling loot chest instead, who knows you might be lucky and a legendary card will appear before your eyes.

Personally, I would prefer to go for rarity draw so that we are more certain of what it is to come. But if you are feeling lucky, you can still try the loot chest.

Seek A Guild - Get Your Brawls

Grinding battles to get glint is going to be a real tough thing to do because without substantial Splinter Shards (SPS) staked, your glint earnings will be rather minimal. So to further enhance this, you need to join a guild to get guild bonus and also participate in brawls to earn SPS.

To get better glint, this 2 factors need to be acted on. With the guild portion done, next is to get more staked SPS and the best way is to participate in brawls. And your guild do generally ok for the brawl, a decent amount of SPS will be rewarded.

And this will be what you will be trying to play and gather so that you grow your collection.

Resources Are Everywhere and It is Your Own Race

The most amazing about Splinterlands is that resources can be found so easily especially in hive post such as this and within the Splinterlands discord. Many players have spend time to write post to share with the community on their guides and strategies. And if you need additional help, you can also ask within discord or if you are struggling, some stronger players might even help you by delegating cards to help you take flight.

Keep battling, keep learning and get better each day. Do not be discouraged by losing streaks, as we all have our fair share of losing streaks. Every battle is a lesson, take note of how you put up your lineup, look at what your opponent is fielding. If you opponent win you, learn why your lineup didn't work and see how to adapt to what your opponent fielded.

There is no need to rush or just dump everything into investing and buying loads of cards. Read up, research, look at your battles then decide what is lacking and if you should purchase or rent. Do calculated growth than just reckless buying.
