Adapting to Modern: Prepare to Get More Rebellion Soul Bound Reward Cards Part 5

Prelude
Welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. With Rebellion Soul Bound reward cards coming live, there is an increased of Rebellion Soul Bound reward cards seen, so as I've started to review the reward cards for this particular post series, let's continue to look at 2 more of the Soul Bound reward cards.

Rebellion Soul Bound Reward Cards

I am seeing more Rebellion Soul Bound rewards cards in play, so I also had to start pulling some and here is what I've gotten from 20 reward chest pull that I done in the past few days:

Out of 20 chest pulls, nothing much from this pull which is a little disappointing. Mainly common cards when I hope for more, but it's alright. There will be a time when lady luck will smile at us once again.

Let's continue from last week where we reviewed 1 common and 1 legendary from the water and fire splinter respectively, today we look at a rare card from and also a common card from water.

Mar Toren Trader

First up is the Mar Toren Trader. This is a card I did a post on but to share more with everyone whom follows this post series and not the other series, this is a card of mixed feelings. It is good that it is of low mana and high damage output. But at base level, this card is very squishy at only 2 health. However, this card will gain momentum as it levels up, gaining debuff for opponent range attack and at the final stage a self heal with its base health going to 7, which is rather substantial. So for this card, my take is that, if possible level it up as high as possible for it to be viable on the battlefield, else it will just be a fodder for opportunity or sneak cards that will easily take this card out. Not too bad but certainly there might be other better options to choose from such as Igor Darkspear.

Commander Slade

Next up is Commander Slade. This card is like wow, something really new and I think can be an even better tank as compared to Skink. If boosted by healers or repairers, this card can be a problem to handle because it has dodge right at base level and possess this crazy ability called enfeeble which reduces the melee attack of cards struck by it. So essentially this card has a disable mechanism against your opponent cards by itself has an escape mechanism to avoid getting hit. With a strong support from backline to support this card, this will be a problem for many lineups. With a very decent stat line of attack and also health, this rare card is one to watch out for and add to collection as it will bring a new dimension to things.

Assessment
I would say Commander Slade is awesome while Mar Toren Trader is a keep in view kind of card. But generally the Rebellion reward set does bring to the collection some really good cards for us to pick from into our lineups and definitely worth experimenting to fight the right fit into the various lineup for maximum efficiency. Slade gets a 4/5 and Trader gets a 2.6/5.

Wrap Up
I do think there are definitely nice and useful cards out of the pool of Soul Bound reward cards added. So let's continue to battle, clock more Glint, then start putting the cards into greater utility be it in ranked or even during brawl. I will continue to research and look at the others card and will share another 2 cards in the next post.
