Splinterlands Art Contest Week 286 - Tortisian Fighter

Welcome Splinterlands Artists to my Splinterlands Fan Art challenge Entry for this week!

The character I chose to create Fan art for this week is Tortisian Fighter. Whenever I see this Water Element Monster, I can’t help but think of the Ninja Turtles, even though they don’t really look alike, it just so happens that they are both turtles with humanoid bodies.

So let’s get started on how I made this Fan art.

Tortisian Turtle is facing backward, so I just assumed that this would be his appearance when facing forward.

I drew a somewhat Ninja Turtle-looking character but with a hat. I also made him somewhat muscular because he’s a fighter.

Once I completed the rough sketch, I darkened the outline.

But then I noticed that the hat I made was too small and didn’t look proportionate, so I enlarged it.

After enlarging it, I finalized the outline.

I started coloring.

When coloring, I went straight to adding shading using a charcoal brush. I adjusted the pressure and slightly changed colors, but all on one layer.

I continued this until I colored the entire drawing.

Next, I worked on the background. I couldn’t think of an idea for the background, so I just drew something with a somewhat watery background since Tortisian Fighter is a water element.

I noticed that because I used a charcoal brush, my drawing became darker when I added a dark background. To solve this, I added white color behind the character that I drew.

For the finishing touch, I darkened some areas that I felt needed to be darker.

And this is my Final Art, which I hope you will like.
