Never will it be forgotten, the shear calamity caused by the aberration called Immolation. If only the Vuto-duum knew what horror that would come to life after the creation of Caladuum, they would have never attempted it.

Let me take you on a journey about how immolation came to be.

It all started with the Vuto-duum, who are refugees from the broken world. They arrived the Splinterlands and decided to have their own ultimate weapon. Hence, they created their vicious warrior, Caladuum from ancient magic. Caladuum was forged from the ever potent fires of the burning lands.

Caladuum was such a powerful beast that the Vuto-duum believed it would bring them liberation and help them conquer. However, if the Vuto-duum knew the consequence of such a creation, they would have banished the mere thought of even attempting it.

As Caladuum became whole, part of the magic that constituted it seeped into the rocks of the burning lands, so the rocks basically carried an essence of Caladuum. Over time, this essence was dragged through the cracks in these rocks, finding empty vaults until finally it got to a vault littered with dry bones and the dust of ages. On getting there, the essence encountered an altar, and on touching the altar, a foul thing got a hold of it. A demon gripped and quickly took control of the essence, conquering the magic within. This new concoction of beings managed to find its way out of that altar, for it had a great hunger.

Eventually, it encountered the great lava lake where the mighty Caladuum came to life years ago. The demon and the essence sank into the lake and the lake's fires fused their souls together, creating a gigantic fire monster that was unfathomable, Immolation.
Immolation was born, and it had an insatiable desire for destruction and death.

While the story mostly ends here, the events that occurred after is one worth telling

The Splinterlands had never known any evil, the likes of immolation. Its insatiable desire for destruction only ever grew as time went on. This giant being, filled with hatred and the weight of a hundred death, consumed everything in its path. No creature could withstand its power. It moved from place to place, seeking absolute annihilation.

If at all anything good came from the existence of immolation, it must be the fact that the different creatures in the splinterlands, united to stand against this aberration that threatened their collective existence. This was a feat never thought possible. In truth, they had no choice. It was either that or they cease to exist.

Beings of different species and elements came together in an effort to contain immolation, and destroy it.

While they weren't able to destroy it, they were able to contain it with powerful magic. However, it came at great cost. Many lost their lives. The lands witnessed destruction like never before. To this day, immolation remains trapped, waiting for the day it will be unleashed on the Splinterlands again. It is bound in a place, the location of which is a closely guarded secret only known by a select few. Everyone who knows the story or hears it shudders at the sound of the name, Immolation, the evil that consumes all things.
