New player questions

in Splinterlands3 years ago

Hi all, I'm Skimanner. I just started playing this week and glad I gave it a try because not only do I love it but I also learned about hive in the process and Im loving it more and more also! Anyhow I'm hoping someone will answer a few questions I have about the Chaos pre-sale.

1.) If you buy chaos packs off of hive-engine during the pre-sale then do you have the chance of getting the promo card? Or is the promo card not in the packs and only related to the account that used a voucher?

2.) how much do the packs cost when pre-sale is over?

3.) First thing I noticed when starting this week is that no packs are available to buy so when do the packs stop being sold in the store? Meaning how long will chaos packs be abailable to purchase adter release?

4.) why are vouchers valued at over 200% more then chaos packs on hive engine? (Just ignore this question if it is tied to question 1)

5.) the chests you get from finishing daily quest, what can you get from these chests? All i habe seen is endless useless potions or sometimes even worse, 4 credits lol. Once I got a common junk nuetral card.

6.) why is dec completely misproportioned? Meaning the value of a card and what it costs is about 10x what the cards dec value is. Also potions cost over 10x more to pay with dec then to pay with credits.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Welcome to the game and hopefully these prove to be useful answers to you.

  1. If you buy chaos packs from Hive or other secondary site you will get your cards but none of the possible promo features. No promo card, no airdrop, no title, no guaranteed gold/legendary cards.
  2. The packs will be $4 when the pre-sale is over but you will need a voucher to buy any of the first 2 million cards.
  3. Packs are limited run. The Chaos run will be 15 million. Once those are gone then they will be finished.
  4. Vouchers let you buy pack in the presale and allow you to get promo card, airdrop, title and other benefits. I personally don't see the benefit for those us only buying a few packs but for those buying 50 or more they can be valuable benefits.
  5. Reward chests are roughly 50% potions, 25% card, 25% Credits/DEC. If you get a card it will be common 75% of the time, rare 20% of the time, epic 5% of the time and legendary 1% of the time. When you pull a card there is also a 2% chance that it will be golden. The most valuable card I've pulled from a reward chest was a Golden Legendary which I sold for $420. The most valuable card I've pulled from my Bronze level account was a Golden common card valued at $7. Then again I've gotten way more potions and crappy credit draws than ones to get excited about.
  6. DEC value follows supply and demand. The game designers expected it to be about 1000 DEC to $1 but its blown up to 10X the value the developers intended. Right now a lot of people are holding DEC because they want the SPS airdrop making them very valuable.

Hope that answers the questions. Any more questions just reply here or follow me and ask a question.

Happy hunting!

Just a quick addition to answer 5. Since you earned credits from a chest, you must be in bronze league. The rewards for bronze are a little different and are detailed in a table in this post: https://peakd.com/splinterlands/@splinterlands/game-economy-and-reward-updates

Edit: Actually, those percentages aren't quite right for any league. Best to just refer to the link I posted.

They were top of my head numbers. The main emphasis was mostly you get lousy stuff. Sometimes you get lousy cards but there is always a chance of getting something good :)

Thank you, good to know, had wondered about that but forgot to ask =)

Thanks for the detailed responses, think I'm all set for now =)
