As the calendar turns and a new year begins, it’s the perfect time to reflect on our achievements and set fresh goals. For me, the past year has been a remarkable chapter in my Splinterlands journey, and the year ahead promises even greater milestones. Let me share my top goals for the new year and how I plan to achieve them.
One of my Most Epic Battles
I don't have Eternal Tofu summoner, so every time I defeat it I celebrate! I think this battle is particularly epic because I defeated the Eternal Tofu summoner with a melee based team which is really hard to do. So without further delay here is the battle:
Defeating Eternal Tofu with a Melee Team!
Here I am facing a much higher ranked opponent in a Modern League:
As you can see I chose melee based team because of the super-sneak ruleset. I didn't look at what teams my opponent normally plays so I didn't really expect o encounter the Eternal Tofu.
In round one I managed to take out their backline monster which is a really good thing so that it is not triaged by their Uloth Dhampir
In round two I took out their Uloth Dhampir, but I did loose my Pelacor Bandit :(
In round three I took out two more monster on their side but did loose one of my main damage dealers
In round four I came really close to loosing my front tank. I will probably loose it in the next round:
I did loose my tank in the fifth round, but I scored a dominating victory with two more monsters left on the field in the sixth round against a much higher ranked opponent:
Earning over 13 SPS for the victory that takes me closer to my goal of 500,000 SPS against a Champion level opponent that is ranked 440 points above me! Now that is a pretty Epic Battle!
Goal #1: Reach 500,000 SPS Tokens
Since August 2021, I’ve been steadily stacking SPS tokens, and today, my holdings stand at an impressive 424,095 SPS. That’s a journey of discipline, strategic planning, and unwavering focus. This year, I’m setting my sights on reaching the coveted 500,000 SPS milestone.
Why 500,000 SPS? Aside from the personal satisfaction of hitting a half-million, having a significant SPS balance provides increased influence in governance, enhanced staking rewards, and a stronger presence in the ecosystem. Splinterlands’ continued growth and the ongoing integration of SPS as a core element of gameplay make this an exciting investment in the game’s future.
Strategy:
- Daily Staking: Consistently stake SPS rewards to maximize compound growth.
- Market Opportunities: Monitor the market for dips to make strategic buys, this works with HIVE pumps like today.
- Passive Gains: Leverage staking yield to accelerate growth.
Goal #2: Max Out Reward Cards
Reward cards are an essential part of my Splinterlands strategy. They not only add depth to my collection but also provide crucial utility in battles. This year, I aim to max out all available reward cards to bolster my deck and prepare for any meta shifts.
Strategy:
Focus on Epics: Based on last reward card set Epic rarity cards were some of the hardest to max out, therefore for this set I am buying maximum amount of Epic cards every season.
As you can see my Common and Rare reward cards are pretty far along with 87% and 71% maxed out for Common and Rare cards respectively so I will get them from the chests anyway:
Focus on Chests: Maximize rewards from daily focus quests and season chests to steadily acquire reward cards.
Despite my focus on Epic cards they are proving to be quite challenging to max out. I am only 61% maxed out:
Legendary cards are only 14% maxed out, but I don't feel these are as powerful as Epic cards in this set so I will focus on these last:
Lessons From the Journey So Far
Since starting this journey in August 2021, I’ve learned that patience and persistence are critical. The blockchain gaming space is dynamic, and Splinterlands exemplifies this with its evolving ecosystem. Staying informed about updates, market trends, and community sentiment has been key to making sound decisions.
Moreover, the synergy between staking SPS and building a robust card collection has reinforced the importance of a balanced approach. Both goals complement each other and create a strong foundation for sustained success in the game.
The Bigger Picture
While personal goals drive motivation, they’re also a reminder of the larger ecosystem we’re part of. Splinterlands’ success depends on the collective effort of its community. By contributing to governance through SPS staking and participating actively in the game’s economy, we help shape the future of this incredible platform.
Closing Thoughts
As I embark on this new year, I’m energized by the possibilities that lie ahead. Reaching 500,000 SPS and maxing out reward cards are ambitious goals, but with focus and dedication, they’re entirely within reach. Here’s to another year of growth, strategy, and victories in Splinterlands!

And here is my normal strategy of beating Eternal Tofu: https://splinterlands.com/battle/sl_d9ec812ce8a9ce26040be97b43197288?ref=seattlea
Wow very Tanky. Immunity from thorns was a great advantage!
Tofu didn't have enuff to damage u
LOL, it is hard to do :)
It was good to see that your commander Slade was immune to the thorn. Indeed when you beat a card with over 4 playable abilities as the eternal Tofu, I think it's worth celebrating though
Yep Commander Slade played a key role here...
