Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

The time of using boring static profiles are finally over, with Splinterlands pushing their latest update a few days ago, bringing the AVATAR and EXEMPLAR systems to let players design and customize their profile images and use them to represent them in the game. This results in the players having an emotional attachment to the game with the profiles they made.
So, for this week's Community Engagement Challenge let me walk you through on how to customize your Avatar and Exemplars, along with all the things that you need to consider when creating them.

Setting Up AVATAR
Setting up your profile avatar can be pretty simple yet also difficult, because for other players, its not just a simple image, but a representation of themselves. Some players from other games would even spend hours just to create their ideal avatar and becomes a digital extension of the player, making them more attached to it.
Anyway, to set up your avatar, you first need to click on your profile, which is next to your IGN. Before, the image next to it were only static profile, but now, it was changed into a default profile that can be modified.

You will then be transferred to your Profile page where you can see not only you battle stats, but also a bigger picture of your profile image. Below it you can see three options that will allow you to customize your Avatar, Exemplar and put your badges in your profile. Just select the edit Avatar to begin customizing your profile.

Once you are in the Avatar customization page, you will see different options for customizing your Avatar, but unless you want to stay with a human male avatar, I recommend first changing your bloodline, which will not only give you different Bloodline options but also allow you to select between genders. Currently, the only bloodlines available are Human, Orc, Elf, and Dwarf, but soon there will be more bloodlines that will be available. Also, take note that changing an Avatar's race and core physical traits will require a Polymorph Potion, but you can freely play with the different outfits and accessories that are available with your chosen Avatar.

Once you selected your desired Bloodline and gender, you can now freely customize your character, starting with their facial features to what outfits they wear and their background image. For now, the background image are limited to element backgrounds, but I believed they also plan to add more backgrounds in the future.

Once that you have set your Avatar, just click on confirm and it will immediately replace the default image in your profile with the one you customized.

Setting Up EXEMPLAR
Exemplar on the other hand, is you turning your Avatar into your ideal card, with stats and abilities that you desired. At some point in time, the thought of creating a card should have entered at least once into your mind, and now, you can finally make that a reality and it was pretty simple too. You just need to add each of the stats and abilities that you want into the card and confirm it to finish the process. However, each stats and abilities you add will cost points and once you need to reached the free points that were allocated in you, you will need to purchase them using Glint.

For abilities, you do not need to purchase all the available abilities, you can just purchase the abilities that you want to be in your Exemplar, but you will need to increase the level of you card to gain points and the maximum level that one can reach right now was level 200, which is equal to more than 81M Glint. So even for large Glint holders, customizing their exemplar will not be an easy task. It is more of a long term plan that you will slowly work on to reach your ideal card.

Finally, you can also add badge in your Avatar, some of the badges can be obtained by playing in the game while, some will require players to reach some collection and asset threshold.

Closing
And that was how you can customize your Avatar and Exemplar to build a virtual representation of your self into the game. If there is one thing that I want added in it, maybe it was to somehow include the player's Runi in it, maybe along with badges, and somehow also include them during match selection, so that one of their few use case right now does not go away.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
