Hi splinternerds,

Welcome to my blog for this week’s entry into the splinterlands engagement challenge. This week I’ll be talking about cards. Splinterlands started as a card game years ago and it still is a card game after so many years. Yes, I can’t dispute the fact that there are a lot of things being introduced at the moment which includes land where you don’t need to be battling to earn rewards in game but make your cards work on your land. But at the end of the day you still need cards.

One other important thing which will require cards is the survival mode which is supposed to be released this year if everything goes according to plan.

So we can all agree that no matter where you pass, cards are an essential part of the game for now.

Now on splinterlands there are various ways by which one can earn cards. Some of which are by buying them from the market. You can also earn them from chests when you advance through your league tiers. One of the easiest way to acquire cards are from the glint shop where you can buy even gold cards from the shop with the glint you’ve earned from playing.

Now for each league in spl, there is a required card to maximise rewards. I say this because in the upper leagues players have max level cards and all that. This is due to the fact that in those leagues there are more seasoned players who have been playing for years and know what they are about. For the bronze league you’ll mostly find lower level cards because most players there are relatively new to the game and as such are learning.

As you climb the ladder you’ll realise that having higher level cards is as important as knowing how to play. This is because a level 1 card can’t have the same stats as a level 8 or level 10 of the same card.

Choosing the kind of cards one wants to max out first is totally up to the one going to use the cards to play. Why do I say this? This is because we all have the cards we like to use on spl so it means we’ll be logically drawn to getting those cards maxed out first.

For me, I like using magic cards so I’ll definitely to more bent on maxing out my magic cards first if I don’t have them at max. The thing is if you are using max summoners most of the time it’s better you max out your cards as well to enjoy using them with your max level summoners as well.

Combining cards are simple on spl even though I think it’s still a tedious process if you have to combine a lot of different set of cards.

You need to go to your items and select cards. In your card collection you’ll see all the cards you have there. For those that are not combined all you need to do is click the card set, then click on the + sign to combine all the cards if you haven’t reached max level yet. If you have more than enough for maxing out one card then the rest won’t be combined. Only the required number will be maxed. You can do this for all card types until you are done combining all cards. If the required cards for max level are not reached the level it can be combined to will be displayed for you to see before you decide.

You can do this each time you want to combine cards. Combining cards are good for you as you’ll get the chance to use cards with better stats to outsmart your opponents. There are battles which are decided by the level of your card and that extra ability which your card has for being at a higher level.
