SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! LAVA SPIDER
This weeks theme is Lava Spider, a 3 mana common card from the new Chaos Legion fire set. I'll be using the level 4 version of the card that I own.
At this level it has 2 range damage, 3 speed and 4 HP. It also has the snipe ability which means it will target my enemy's ranged, magic or no attack monsters not in the first position.
For a 3 mana cost card I think these are very decent stats so let's see how it performs
Pre Battle Thoughts
I wanted to take advantage of Lava Spider's ability snipe and stack my team with snipe monsters to play in conjunction with Lava Spider. This way the majority of the damage my monster's will be dealing will be directed at a single target making Lava Spider way more effective

Rulesets
Explosive Weaponry: All monsters have blast. This is a great ruleset to play with my snipe focused team, my monsters can really do a lot of damage to my opponents backline each turn
Super Sneak: I have to be wary of any sneak attacks my opponent will throw at me and plan accordingly
Team Selection
With these rulesets I wanted to load up my front and back end with tanks that can absorb the blast and sneak damage while also getting as much snipe fire power that I can to really make Lava Spider shine and make use of the blast ability
Antoid Platoon
Antoid Platoon is a great low mana tank. With the shield ability it is perfect in the front position
Scavo Chemist
I wanted another low mana card with high HP in the 2nd position to absorb as much blast damage as possible. Scavo Chemist might not be able to attack but with 5 HP i'm hoping it can survive long enough for my snipers to do there job
Fire Beetle
Fire beetle is a good little card at 3 mana with 2 range damage it packs a punch. Its shield will also come in handy with the blast ruleset
Lava Spider
I placed Lava Spider in the middle of my backline so he should stay hidden from my opponents blast and sneak attacks and really have a chance to do some damage
Ferexia General
Ferexia General is really powerful and had to be include in my snipe focused lineup. 3 range damage with 3 speed means he is gonna do plenty of damage. He also has 6 HP so he fits well in the 2nd last position to absorb the blast damage from my opponents sneak attacks. A great card all round
Xenith Monk
Xenith Monk fits nicely as my back tank. He can heal any sneak damage he takes and can also deal out some sneak damage of his own
Round 1
With the speed nerfs from my opponents Creeping Ooze as well as Kelyas +1 speed increase my opponent has the definite speed advantage. His Wavesmith is also providing additional shields against my snipers. Hopefully I have enough firepower to beat my opponent
My Opponent attacks first attacking my frontline and backline but my tanks withstand the blows and survive
Then Its my turn to return fire led by my Lava Spider my snipers break through the Wavesmiths shields killing him and the creeping ooze with blast
Round 2
My opponent still attacking first is able to kill my Xenith Monk and Scavo Chemist but they did a great job protecting my snipers and allowing them to return fire and kill my opponents Sniping Narwal and Feasting Seaweed
Round 3
My opponent was able to kill my General but after that my Lava Spider was easily able to finish the job on my opponents remaining monsters and get me the win
Final Thoughts
I really enjoyed using Lava Spider it's not a card that I normally play with as I'm not the biggest fan of the snipe ability. But I feel like my strategy worked really well and I'm interested in trying out this combination of multiple snipers to see if it can be effective in other situations
Lava Spider I think can be really effective in low mana matches that is where I think its most useful
All in all I enjoyed using Lava Spider and I think I will a lot more from here on out
