As the new season started, I have been bullied down here in Bronze but it never stopped me from climbing back to Silver. Through my battles, I've thought of using the new Riftwatchers cards even though the mana cap is not enough to maximize the use of those cards. But, there is one card that I wanted to try out and that is Tinderlock.
Here in this post is where I would show some probably uncommon use of Tinderlock for the Bronze players and list down some key points to consider when using this card as your carry card.
Card Background
As you can see from above, this is a 10-mana, 3 damage Ranged card that packs a lot of useful abilities. I want to focus on the Level 1 stats so this had Last Stand which increases your damage, speed, and health stats of the card when it is the only card left in the battle. While Close Range helps Ranged monsters to attack in the first position.
These two abilities are gonna be the spotlight for this post as they shine in specific conditions and rulesets. Similarly, I will use this card as a start close to the Llama-Kron combo that people hate to go up against.
Battle Highlights
Below are two of the battles where I used Tinderlock as the only card to play with. You can click the teaser below to watch the whole battle.
Things to Consider
1. Mana Cap
Common for Bronze games are the low mana caps you have in battles. The minimum you can use Tinderlock is around 14 mana along with Tarsa. If you can have more mana to add additional cards it would be better as long as you'll place Tinderlock in the back and keep him alive.
2. Ruleset
Well, the ruleset doesn't factor much on when you should use Tinderlock as a solo carry card but this card can do well in Even Stevens ruleset where you can only use even mana cards along with a low mana point to limit your opponents use of cards.
3. Opponents Recent Battles
Here you would check your opponents' recent battles if they would normally bring cards that provide Armor like Kelya Frendul or Truthspeaker that would require you to hit more than once with Tinderlock and by the time you'll get the damage off, you're left with less than 10 HP. Sneak Cards are also a great counter to Last Standing monsters as you can just chip their health down before you can even trigger the ability. So, please check you're opponent's recent battles and try to predict what cards they will use.
In the end, utilizing the Riftwatchers card isn't just for a high mana-capped battle but with a bit of luck and predicting your opponent's moves will surely let you the winning in the end in those low mana-capped battles.
