Hello everyone! This is my first entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today I'm sharing a battle of mine in Modern Diamond Ranked.
I fought an interesting battle in Modern Diamond ranked. This was a low mana battle. It's not Little League, but we both only used cards with 4 mana or less. One of mine was Vulguine. This is a cool CL reward card that is usually on the market for just above the burn value. That is because those cards were overprinted. But I believe it is underrated and should be valued a little higher. Let's not forget this is from the second batch of CL reward cards, which were not as overprinted as the first batch. The biggest problem with Vulguine is that it is fairly useless at the lower levels. Once it gets Dodge, it becomes a bit more useful and, at max level, it really shines with Enrage. It's not a card for every situation but it is very useful to have. It also has beautiful art.

This game has the following rule sets: Melee Mayhem, Rise of the Commons, and Silenced Summoners. I went with Ilthain because I wanted to play Life and that's my maxed 4 mana summoner. They had a big advantage because they used Prunda Undervesch which only costs 3 mana and allows Life and Water units. I started with the Weapons Training combination of Pelacor Conjurer, Moxian Rebel, and Chaos Agent. I followed them up with Vulguine and finished with Celestial Harpy. They put Hardy Stonefish in front and also used the same Weapons Training combination but with Daigendark Surveyor instead of Chaos Agent. They finished with Angelic Mandarin.
I took out their Stonefish very quickly. Both Conjurers died in round 2, although mine went down first. In round 3, both Moxian Rebels died and my Agent was eliminated in the following one. Vulguine moved to the front but it had 10 HP, so it was a big tank. In round 5, Vulguine killed the Surveyor. With only a ranged unit on their side left, the game was over and my team finished it in the next round.
When first looking at the teams, with the nerf to my magic damage and them having one extra mana to work with, it doesn't look great for me. However, my melee damage is pretty good, Vulguine eventually being a very big wall and Celestial Harpy's True Strike were all advantages I had and they ended up making the difference.
What do you all think about this game? Would you have done anything different? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading!!
