RE: Splinterlands Town Hall Summary - May 22nd, 2023!

in Splinterlands2 years ago

I don't know if it was addressed in the TH but I find it strange that there's nothing in the summary about the outrage from most of the community regarding the ridiculous high SPS requirements. Are they just going to ignore the players? Is this what this game has become? If those numbers don't drop drastically, I will lose all trust on the team.

Sort:

They don't care, they only care money, not players

obviously not true, if you were in any THs

I was in all of the THs and it's absolutely true.

Absolutely, first it was power req...no problem seeing as it made sense but the SPS req is a step too far for me. Everything is shifting to the player even though the rewards have been nerfed to almost nothing these days. Cannot sell cards won in the game, not much SPS floating, fees are just passed on and increased, so players are getting less but asked for more and more whilst card values are dropping like a stone. There are many things I disagree with but this is a major hurdle

There are no requirements, there is a curve space you should be asking for the equation, we know nothing yet. Maybe we get 95% from half those numbers, who knows?

I understand how they work. We know everything, sure the numbers can change but even half is too much. Champ 1 should be 100k at most.

sps at 2 cents now means that it does not cost much to get those "requirements". As ann added bonus: if the game does well over the next year+ that investment will also grow

Even at 2 cents, to get SPS for full rewards at champion 1, it's over $8k. That's just absurd...

No, absurd is arguing against a clever use-case for SPS that was also described in the whitepaper. SPS is at 2 cents, many people bought when it was 5x higher or more. You're getting a massive discount. Stop complaining and start buying.

I'm not against the use-case, I'm against the numbers. I've been here for over a year and a half, I saw SPS at much higher and I never sold. I always accumulated and bought. I have put money into this game as much as I'm confortable with, most in cards. I just can't spend $8k just to keep earning a couple dollars per season.

Do you not realize how gracious the team has been from the original white paper that said champ would be 600,000. That information was given out maybe 1-2 years ago. Not sure why you are mad now that they reduced it?

That's old information. They have very recently said that SPS requirements would be in line with the ones from tournaments. They are not even close. They straight up lied about that.

And it doesn't matter if it's in line or not. When almost no one has enough for the league they are playing, there's clearly something wrong with the numbers. It's one thing for those who have been unstacking and selling SPS but even those who never sold are very far away.

If we are going off what we know, we should push back on Yaba and have him raise champ staked SPS levels to the 600k estimated in the whitepaper.
We are 2 years since the whitepaper, this 'requirement' is neither new nor unexpected. If anything, it is less required than we thought before.
