Another one of those newbie questions

in Splinterlands3 years ago

Hello Everyone! So I started the game today and there's one thing that I can say.... I suck big time!

I paid the upfront $10 and I also bought 5 packs for $10. Unfortunately, I forgot to enter a referral link. Will I still be able to do that at this stage?

I played around 80 games and only won like 20 and most of those are from opponents auto-surrending.

I think this game has a very cool concept and I want to improve more.

I request everyone to give me some tips on how to move forward. I finished my daily quest already. How can I add more cards aside from buying? How do I get better? Is there a meta list that I can follow at the start of my journey?

Looking forward to everyone's help :)

Cheers,

You can ask in discord and they will add your referal.

In terms of getting better, in takes time, at the beginning everything feels like it goes very slow, but this gets better over time.

I have a lot of posts about splinterlands tips/stratgies, feel free to check them out.

It's just kind of rough starting out, and buying the packs isn't a great way to progress. Visit the official discord and/or find a guild and there will likely be someone willing to help you out with a few card loans for free. I'd highly recommend you check out the rental market and you can find some really cheap cards there to help you as well. I'm talking 0.1 cents/day to find cards useful for novice/bronze/silver level. I'm new as well, so I can absolutely relate to the early frustration, but it definitely gets better.

An easy way to get some cards for free is to enter giveaways here on Hive.
