For this week's challenge I chose the card Deeplurker from the water deck which is a very strong card since level 1 because of its high attack and its Opportunity ability that makes it attack the enemy card with the lowest health, it is a common card from the chaos legion edition and its mana cost is 6 which is not low but is very worth having in battles.

His stats at level 1 are 3 attack which is high as mentioned before, 2 speed which makes him a bit slow so don't expect him to be one of the first cards to attack but if you combine him with summoner Kelya Frendul then his speed will increase and he will be even more useful and 6 health which is not much for a card that has 6 mana cost but its main utility is on offense and not defense so its still a good amount of life.

At level 10, which is his maximum level, he already has 5 attack which is quite high so he will be a great card to deal damage in battles, 4 speed which already improves a lot so he can be considered a slightly fast card and 7 health which is only 1 health more than level 1 but it's already a good amount. In addition he has 3 abilities that are obtained at different levels, the Opportunity ability that I mentioned before he has since level 1, the Poison ability from level 6 and the Demoralize ability at level 10.

The image above shows an overview of the Deeplurker card, remembering that there are level restrictions in the leagues so the Deeplurker at level 6 with the Poison ability would only be possible in the gold league or above and the Deeplurker with the Demoralize ability at level 10 only in the league diamond or above.

The Opportunity ability makes the Deeplurker able to attack the enemy card with the lowest health so it will be very useful to give the final blow to the cards and this helps a lot in the battle because it increases the chances of an opponent's card being defeated during the round.

The Poison ability will also be very useful because it makes the Deeplurker have a 50% chance to apply this effect on the card he attacks and when the effect is applied the card will take 2 damage at the end of the round, so if the Deeplurker is not able to defeat the card with its attack the chances of it being defeated with the Poison effect are quite high.

Demoralize will be useful against melee cards because it makes the Deeplurker reduce the attack of these cards by 1 while he is in battle and this helps your cards not take too much damage from these cards as they will have less attack, but if the Deeplurker is defeated then the opponent's melee cards will recover reduced attack.

For the battle besides Deeplurker I used other cards that were quite useful, these cards are:

Kelya Frendul (Level 1) will be the summoner as I mentioned before, as she increases the speed of the cards by +1 and this will be very useful for the Deeplurker and she also grants +1 shield from to all your cards and it will be very useful against melee and ranged cards.

Hardy Stonefish (Level 1) which is a melee card with no abilities, but its mana cost is low and it has a shield so it will be useful to defend even if for a short time.

The Flying Squid (Level 1) which is a melee card capable of attacking from the second position because of its Reach ability and it will be a great card to defend after the Hardy Stonefish.

The Deeplurker (Level 1) that will be great for dealing damage as I mentioned before, mainly for defeating low health cards.

Merdaali Guardian (Level 1) which is a card without attack but an excellent support for battles with its Tank Heal ability that heals the first position card.

The Kulu Swimhunter (Level 1) which is a ranged card with no abilities, so it will only be useful for dealing damage.

The Angelic Mandarin (Level 1) which is also a ranged card with no abilities.

See the Battle

In the battle my opponent used a summoner that reduces the magic attack and health of my cards by 1. The magic attack reduction will not affect my cards because I don't have any cards with this type of attack, but the health reduction will be a problem because it will make my cards more vulnerable to defeat.

My opponent has the Cursed Windeku card which will be a problem for my melee cards since they take damage when they attack him, the Bone Golem card will not be a big problem because it is in second position and is only able to attack in first position and has the Void ability that reduces the damage received by magic attacks but as I don't have cards of this type won't affect me, the Silent Sha-Vi card will attack my last-positioned card because of its Sneak ability but I have summoner's shield Kelya Frendul, the Scavo Hireling won't be very useful in battle because he doesn't have an attack, the only shield card he can repair is Bone Golem, and Life Sapper comes alive when he attacks because of his Life Leech ability.

In this battle the available mana is 28 and there are no rules.

Round 1

In the first round, Kelya Frendul's shield was very useful because it greatly reduced the damage that my cards would suffer in the round, Hardy Stonefish defended well during this round but ended up being defeated.

Scavo Hireling was the target of Deeplurker and ended up being defeated, now Bone Golem has no support to help you in battle.

I still have a lot of cards with Kelya Frendul's shield and the speed she grants is also helping my cards attack first a lot.

Round 2

In the second round the Cursed Windeku which was one of my opponent's main defenses was defeated but was still able to do damage with his Thorns ability on Flying Squid, but soon after the Merdaali Guardian was able to heal him and his health was restored, now my opponent's card that is in the first position is Bone Golem and he is able to attack, the Life Sapper card was the Deeplurker's target and it was defeated.

My opponent wasn't able to do much this round because many of his cards were defeated so only Flying Squid and Angelic Mandarin took damage.

Round 3

In the third round again Merdaali Guardian's healing was very useful making the Flying Squid continue in the battle and this time the Bone Golem was the Deeplurker's target and he was defeated.

My opponent again wasn't able to do much in the round and now there's only one of his cards left in the battle.

Round 4

In the fourth round as there was only my opponent's Silent Sha-Vi card left in the battle it took all the damage and was defeated before being able to attack, but this time the card was not defeated by Deeplurker. The battle is over as the number of cards on my opponent's field is 0.

Conclusion

The Deeplurker card stood out a lot in the battle because every time it attacked it was able to defeat a card so having the Opportunity ability is very useful in battles. Having Kelya Frendul as a summoner is also a great choice because it increases their speed allowing them to attack first and also grants them a shield which is very useful as melee and ranged cards are often used. Only the Hardy Stonefish card was defeated on my side but that was already predicted because I put it just to fill the number of cards in the battle, but it was very useful as it was able to defend 2 attacks.
