Hello everyone.
I'm a totally new players.
I created my account in August but didn't play the game.
Then a friend told me to play it again and ... i started it the 14 September without knowing a thing.
I spent two intense days learning the game and the mechanics and i'm here to share my journey with you.
How did i get out of the bronze league ?
I used a Mylor Crawling deck.
Why ?
Because Mylor allow you use Thorns.
It will inflict 2 damage to every melee enemy attacking you.
Is the deck OP ?
At start, i was thinking it was cause many people play with fire deck, but after few ranked, it's not as easy because it can be counter.
Which card in ?
Here is the core :
BOLD = must have
Not bold = tech cards useful against some matchups
- Mylor Crawnling
TANK :
- Unicorn Mustang
- Flesh Golem
- Stone Golem
- Orc sergeant
DPS :
- Goblin Thief
- Goblin Sorcerer
- Earth Elemental
- Child of the forest
DPS Neutral :
- Goblin chariot
- Elven Cutthroat
- Uraeus
0 MANA :
- CHICKEN
Heal :
- Wood nymph
Boost :
- OOZE
- Brownie
Against magic / melee :
- Failed summoner
MATCHUP
Your battle composition will almost always look the same :
- Tank
- Sneak monster
- Heal
- Boost
- High HP monster in last to counter sneak
Usual core comp for 23 / 21 or 20 mana
-Mylor (3)
-Unicorn (8) / Flesh Golem (6) or Stone Golem (5)
-Goblin sorcerer (3)
-Wood nymph (4)
-OOZE (1)
-Goblin Thief (4)
From there, you adjust the comp with your tech cards depending what you are fighting.
- Skip all melee in Mylor Mirror
- Fire is an easy win cause of thorn and their melee monster
- The unicorn is exceptionnaly good against a lot of matchup
- I can't really help more because every decision will be situationnal
- The 1 and 0 mana drop are your allies, against a melee team, it's 6 thorn damage that they'll going to inflict
I can still climb but ive got not enough power to go in SILVER 2 so i'll stay there for now.
You can follow me on twitter, i'll share my journey about splinterlands.
https://twitter.com/SplinterTcg
I intend to test all kind of deck and composition.
I was a competitive player on other TCG, it will take time to have a decent collection but i hope i'll get to gold soon enough.
Thank you for your time !
PS : if you have any suggestion account to follow or if you share about splinterlands and want me to follow you, drop a comment and we shall meet !
How much did it cost to rent the cards and how much deck are you making per day? I can only play a little right now, so a information like this one would be very helpfull
I made 721 DEC in two days, so that wasn't a lot.
If i convert it give : 3.60 $
I played like 10 hours to really understand the game.
For renting the cards, it will really depends of the level of the cards you'll rent and if only core or tech.
You can simulate.
I bought some cards because i'm getting in the game for the long term.
Hello, @mjchamp! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive - congratulations and welcome! It would also be awesome if you could do an introduction post, so our community can get to know you better. For an example of what an intro post is like, you can check out this one by my friend & curation team member -
Keeping Up With the Buzz - My Introduction to the Hive Community.
Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities . I see you already found Splinterlands, and you might be interested in the Hive Gaming Community as well.
Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.
Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). Since you're new, you may run into an RC (Resource Credits) error when trying to comment/post because you don't yet have enough Hive in your account yet. For assistance with a temporary delegation to get you started, be sure to check out the Gift Giver site.
For now, @lovesniper will follow your account (I also followed you on Twitter via my personal and @HiveBlogShare accounts) and we are looking forward to seeing your intro post. Also, please mention (also known as tagging) @traciyork & @lovesniper in your intro post in order for us to be notified, so we can consider your post for OCD curation. Lastly, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server if you have any questions!
Hi there, I also just started SPL, just a few days ago I bought a spellbook, it's interesting to see how you build a team in a battle, really very detailed. Oh yeah, a little question, how much DEC do you spend on renting cards? Any suggestions on what cards to suggest? Thank you for your time.
I bought some cards.
I believe you can rent all of them for cheap enough but in the goal of having fun.
I don't think it's profitable neither in time and neither in DEC cause i made 721 DEC in two days.
The DEC capture goes kinda low really fast.
