For a while, I wondered what it would be like to use the death element for battle, so I decided to try it.
Thalgrimore was the death archon I went with. It's ability to reduce enemy units health by 1 is one thing that made me go for it.
The mana cap was 35, so I had to carefully choose the units that would ensure my victory.
One major factor that helped me win this battle was Little sister.

I put little sister in the third position. Little Sister was really important to my strategy. First of all, she was a magic unit. This made her attacks lethal to health. Armor didn't matter because her attacks went straight to deplete the health of enemy units.
The next thing is that she has the life leech ability. As a result, whenever she successfully attacked enemy units, her health increased.

This made her become difficult to eliminate in battle. While she already had a health stat of 3, it kept growing in battle. She was dealing all the damage while her health increased.
In a way, Little sister was a reinforcement. While my units in the first position and the other one in the front came under attack, little sister was getting ready to take up the heat that comes with the first position. By the time Little sister got to the first position, she had enough health to withstand attacks, stay in battle and fight back.
There were other units that helped to achieve this victory, so let's delve in.
| Position | Unit |
|---|---|
| 1 | Nim Guard Captain |
| 2 | Lunaki Howler |
| 3 | Little Sister |
| 4 | Moros Malik |
The Rodentian, Nim Guard Captain was in the first position. Seeing that the mana cost for this unit was just 7, it made sense to choose it considering the mana cap. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was going occupy my first position.
This is because of it's armour and health combined. With 3 armors and a health stat of 5, that's an advantage because it won't be easy to deplete, ensuring it stays longer in battle.
Let me also throw in the fact that it is a melee unit, so its ideal position is in the front row. In addition, it has the void ability which protects it from attacks by enemy magic units (that otherwise would have been lethal).
I won't forget to add that this unit has a speed stat of 3, making it fast, which means some enemy attacks won't get to it.
Considering all of this, it's understandable why I chose it for the first position.
In the second position, I decided to go with a magic unit, Lunaki Howler. This is also a neutral unit. One good thing about magic units is that they can attack from anywhere.
Also, they bypass armor and go straight for health when they attack. Those two facts combined make magic units really valuable.
Lunaki Howler was crucial to my line up because apart from being a magic unit, it has a reasonably good health stat of 4.
Like I usually do, in the last position, I put a ranged unit, Moros Malik. Even though its attack power is low, the health compensates for it.
One interesting thing about this unit is that it has the opportunity ability which makes it strategically target enemy units with the lowest health. That's an added tactical advantage for me.
My opponent decided to go with the fire element by choosing the fire archon, Barthalamas.
My opponent's line up:
| Frankarsgard |
|---|
| Sturdy Axe Warden |
| Great Bear Druid |
| Kanaak Miner |
The battle started fierce. While my Nim Guard Captain came under attack in the first position, my two magic units and the ranged units combined to launch counter attacks. In no time, my enemy's Kanaak Miner got eliminated.

The battle continued until Nim Guard Captain got eliminated. Meanwhile, Little sister kept on accumulating more health and dealing blows to enemy units.
The enemy unit, Frankarsgard got eliminated after much attacks. Not long after, the remaining enemy units were eliminated while I lost Lunaki Howler.
Little Sister remained, reinforced as ever. Moris Malik was also left standing.
It's was a nice victory for me.
