🌊🌊🌊 🅲🅷🅾🆂🅴🅽 🆂🅿🅻🅸🅽🆃🅴🆁 🌊🌊🌊
In my opinion, Water 🌊, Fire 🔥, and Death 💀 are the most stable Splinter for the Free Deck. At Bronze League, it is imperative that you have at least one Splinter which is very dependable. I recommend that you choose between Water, Fire, and Death since they are already strong enough, and if you have a tight budget, you can easily strengthen them and become very dependable.
For this blog, we will be choosing Water 🌊 Splinter. Rest assured that I will also be creating for other Splinters soon but for this time, let's focus on Water 🌊 Splinter.
Free Water Cards are already strong for Medium Mana Range (20-28). Beyond that range, I don't advise using Free Water Cards. But after acquiring these additional cards to be discussed here, you can now play Water 🌊 Splinter on any mana range.
⚔️⚔️⚔️ 🆃🅰🅲🆃🅸🅲🆂 ⚔️⚔️⚔️
Water 🌊 splinter has two kinds of tactics to play. One is the Mage Build and the other is Anti-Mage Build.
MAGE BUILD 🌩️
Magic damage is currently overpowered here in Splinterlands. Magic damage ignores the armor of the enemy monster cards except for monsters with Void Armor and Divine Shield ability. This means that each Magic Damage Attacking Monster directs their damage to the health points of the enemy monster. Also, Magic Damage does not miss except when affected by Blind ability, and the enemy monster has Phase ability.
Magic damage, however, can be reflected by the Magic reflect ability. The magic damage you inflict still damages the enemy monster but your monster will receive damage equal to half the damage dealt and rounded up. Also, Magic Damage can be reduced by Silence ability as well as the Void ability when magic damage is to be received.
ANTI-MAGE BUILD 🪓
This build relies on the battle history of your enemy. If you can deduce from his recent battles that your enemy uses Magic Damage Attacking Monsters, then this build may counter his monsters.
This build utilizes strong tanks and strong backline damagers. Tanks to be chosen should have any of the following Void, Void Armor, and Heal. This is the problem with Free Water Cards since your tank is the available tanks are not strong enough which only relies on high health points like the Peaceful Giant and Elven Defender.
Backline Damagers should have at least 2 damage of any kind, melee (with Sneak or Opportunity ability), range damage (most preferred), or magic damage (less preferred).
Both builds are to be used interchangeably to confuse our enemies from what build to be used and to give them a hard time countering your build. Our goal for our $50 budget is to strengthen both builds of the Water 🌊 Splinter Cards to make it a dependable Splinter Deck.
💧💧💧 🆃🅷🅴 🅲🅰🆁🅳🆂 💧💧💧
For the main event, here are the cards to buy. Please take note that these cards and tactics are ALSO applicable to those who are only renting cards. The $50 dollars budget that I mentioned will be used to buy the cards and not on rent. Now, let's go shopping at the Splinterlands Marketplace!

💧 Sea Genie
Sea Genie is a cheap and strong card addition to our Mage Build giving this card a total of 3 Magic Damage which is a real pain for the opponent. Sea Genie also has Flying ability which is very useful on Earthquake rulesets and has an increased chance for evading range and melee attacks (miss).
Price Range:
$2.00 - $2.50
💧 Sea Monster
Sea Monster is a great tank with lots of melee damage. Sea Monster has Heal ability and when combined with the Free Water Monster Card, the Crustacean King which has the Tank Heal ability gives you a double healing tank. A double healing tank is very annoying in battles especially if your opponent has no other ways of killing the Crustacean King first.
Price Range:
$3.50 - $ 4.50
💧 Captain's Ghost
Captain's Ghost is a good back liner damager for both Mage and Anti-Mage build. It has high health points enough to tank and survive Sneak attacks. It has high Magic Damage giving it a total of 3 Magic Damage when used with the Mage Build and 2 Magic Damage when used with the Anti-Mage Build. Captain's Ghost also has the Affliction ability which has a 50% chance to disable the healing abilities of your opponent's monster.
Price Range:
$4.30 - $4.75
💧 Axe Master
Axe Master is a great backline damage dealer. Axe Master has Double Strike ability giving him a total of 4 damage dealt with the enemy. The beauty of this ability is for Axe Master to fully utilize his total damage instead of throwing it out all at once. Axe Master may kill two squishy monster cards in one round or can eliminate the armor and then damaging the health of an enemy monster card. It is advisable to put a dummy tank or if you may, a good tank behind this card to protect it from Sneak attacks.
Axe Master was a Reward Card that has been on Daily Quest Chests and Season Rewards Chests in the past, if you were part of the lucky ones who pulled this great card, then you have saved a good amount of money which you can spend on other cards you want.
Price Range:
$5.60 - $6.70
💧 Azmare Harpoonist
Azmare Harpoonist is another great backline damage dealer. Azmare Harpoonist has a good amount of speed, with fair mana cost and a lot of damage. Azmare Harpoonist has the Snare ability which is the best counter for Monster Cards with Flying ability especially with the Dragon Splinter Summoner, Brighton Bloom.
Price Range:
$6.00 - $6.90
⚔️ Prismatic Energy
Even though this is a Neutral Card, this is a great addition to the Mage Build. Prismatic Energy is the Cheapest Tank with Magic Damage Attacking Monster you can buy. The goal for a strong Mage Build is to go on an all-out team of Magic Damage Attacking Monster from Tank to Backline Damagers. Prismatic Energy has Magic Reflect ability which helps in further damaging the enemy monsters with Magic Damage.
Price Range:
$12.50 - $13.60
💧 Torhilo the Frozen
Torhilo is the best Anti-Mage Build tank you can have. With Torhilo's Void ability and partnered with the Free Water Splinter Summoner, Bortus, all enemy monsters with 2 Magic Damage which are then reduced to 1 Magic Damage will deal NO DAMAGE on Torhilo. Tanking is not a problem with Torhilo since it has 4 armors and 8 health points. Torhilo also deals a painful amount of melee damage to the enemy.
Price Range:
$11.50 - $14.00
💧 Frost Lion
This is a very cheap and good Anti-Mage Dummy Tank. With cheap mana cost, it will take up to two magic damages regardless of how high the magic damage is because of its Void Armor ability. The first attack of the enemy monster will be tanked with the armor, then the second attack will be tanked with the health point.
Price Range:
$0.15 - $0.30
✨✨BONUS CARD✨✨
💧 Venari Wavesmith
This is a great addition to your Mage Build, I believe this card is also the reason why Magic Damage Attacking Monsters also became the current "meta". The free Magic Damage Attacking Monsters are really squishy and the Protect ability of Venari Wavesmith covers that weakness making these squishy magic damagers last longer in battle.
Personally, I do not recommend you on buying this card at the moment. For now, strive harder on your daily quests and try to acquire this card on Daily Quest Chests and Season Rewards Chests. You may check here the current print status of each rewards card. As long as the printed copies of this card are low, you still have a lot of chances to acquire this meta Mage Build card.
