Hello Splinter family! I keep wondering if everyone here in the community has a group of friends who talk tirelessly, every day, about the game. When I go a few hours without checking the WhatsApp group, there are 200 or even 500 unread messages on the subject; it's surreal, not even my entire family could keep a group active like that. The coolest part of analyzing the conversations is the types of players and their expectations regarding the game. (I won't mention names)

There's one colleague in particular who is a romantic player and I believe he's in love with the game. If someone mentions any negative detail about the game, he always creates a justification, making the game seem wonderful. It's hilarious; I see people creating contexts just to see if he'll show up to romanticize the game.

He's at work while I'm writing this post, just to see his train of thought. I sent a joke in the group saying: the game isn't loading! Less than 10 seconds later, he replied below: they must be updating, I read somewhere that they were going to update! The guy blatantly lied to save the game; I almost died laughing when I told him I was joking, and he didn't even reply. You can be sure, if the game were a physical object, he would be completely in love with it.

He's a simple player, usually in the SILVER league, but he has a consideration for the game as if he were a DIAMOND league player. He frequently praises the game and always makes sure to share it in the group whenever he wins something. I've praised Splinterlands, but it doesn't even come close to his reality. The financial return for him, even if minimal, is something gigantic. This makes us reflect on some social issues; any gain, however small, is still a gain.

Personally, I like to romanticize the game through combat; winning a battle is something beautiful and wonderful, worthy of being shared. Let's take the following matchup as an example:

MATCH: Team WATER (my team) VS Team DUAL (Earth/life) - https://splinterlands.com/battle/sl_ceab1689a833f09d91cfebfd1a971f5e?ref=josiva

BATTLE RULES: STANDARD, there are no specific rules to interfere with the matchup, your archons and creatures will use their true power; 24 mana to summon creatures.

The STANDARD battle rule is perfect, but I hadn't remembered that the season had ended, I had no rented cards, I only discovered this after clicking to start this matchup. All my cards are at level 1, a big problem to solve, fortunately, my opponent has the same problem.

I think this was the craziest matchup I've had in the last few weeks, zero synergy, no visible combination. I used the archon MARLAI SINGARIEL, but I didn't take advantage of its ability to increase the power of creatures with spell damage effectively.

In slot 1, my friend COMMANDER SLADE, this card ended up becoming my front line when using the WATER battle; its DODGE ability is excellent, providing a great advantage against physical attacks. In slot 2, ENDLESS GIBBON, a melee creature with a mana cost of 1 that can attack in slot 2 due to its REACH ability.

In slot 3, STAMPEDING GALF. Honestly, I don't know why I chose this creature; I have better options for this summoning cost. The only advantage I see at the moment is its CHARGE ability, allowing it to attack from any slot, even though it's a melee creature. In the 4th and final slot selected, SHOCK TROOPER, another crazy choice. I'm using a creature that will damage my own team with the ELECTRIFIED disadvantage. This last choice was automatic.

Despite several crazy choices, the enemy team was inferior, which allowed me a great victory. It's in moments like these that I express all my love for the game! "I LOVE YOU SPLINTERLANDS"

"EU TE AMO, SPLINTERLANDS!"

Sort:

Is renting better right now? Thinking of doing some analysis if i can feed the live battles thorough some data analysis to find out what is the most played combo then rent just the cards that would maybe win a lot of the time against the most played combos and have that evolve with it auto renting diff cards as whats being played evolves and also place a price cap on it to based on rewards won. Wonder if i can make it so i at least break even botting then if i can ill bot all 10 of my accoounts again to get as many reward cards as possible unbind them with aura and rent them out since the rentals are doing high aprs right now i have some at almost 1000% lol.

It can be profitable; with the current drop in cryptocurrency values, medium-term profits could be high. I'm allocating part of my earnings to buying other assets; I want to maximize my future gains. We already have an idea of what the SPS rally would look like; we can project gains in other assets, and the game will be a hook to leverage those gains.

SPS might be able to hit .03-05 if inflation is taken into account or depending on if a lot of ppl burn sps that could change or if a lot of money comes in more than in 2020-2021 then the mkt cap could beat the 250 million but it would need some serious investment and influx. If hive were to rip and people accumulate that and sell into a pump which happens freq once or twice a year could be a good move or buying DEC at below peg holding on land while it powers it and then selling when it hits a higher value and taking some gains off hive to put in non spl or hive related high yield stables could be a good idea to be able to use the interest to buy when things go down and not be impacted at all which would probably be a good long term strategy so it separates earnings to a consistent fund that you can use to fund the gaming purchases without depending on any hive or spl bull or bear markets which are impacted alot by each other and you can take advantage if there is a nice dip and dca in or if assets pump sell at different levels as likely will revert back a bit as many holders would take profits as many are in a loss position and if given the chance would likely take advantage of higher prices to liquidate if they could to de risk a bit and wait for a pull back. I am hoping i can pull in some nice spikes down of certain cards to put on land and maybe if i can get runi at a good price or nodes as well depending on the APR if it can be above 50% might not be bad investment and be worth the risk. I am probably holding back though more since i have a equity position in the company and that gives me a lot more exposure than my account so if the games succeed I will with that and I cant trade that so might as well take profits if things go up enough or buy as long as things are at extremes.

Thank you for the detailed explanation; it clarified some points for me. There were some points you mentioned that I hadn't considered.
