Mid-week update: Swimming in Credits

I guess Splinterlands is just all I play these days.

I get terrible rewards and that's funny. It's so funny I [went and wrote a really stupid little story about it]https://peakd.com/@joesetsfire/tales-from-the-splinterlands-from-rags-to-rags that 400 people have gone and liked. This is an even better reward that 4 credits! Better even that 10 credits! It's better than...a lot of credits!

Splinterlands, then. More of that seems to be the answer.

Well, that and old Mega Drive games that I'm too old and uncoordinated to be good at any more. 10 year old me could rip through Bare Knuckle (aka. Streets of Rage) in one sitting (providing the stupid Megadrive didn't freeze up). Current age me (old) has just confirmed that he can no longer do that. I blame the beers.

I relish being about to play the games I loved as a kid on their original formats. They feel real just like card games do when you have physical cards. You hold the cartridge, blow furiously on it because it won't load and then teleport back to 1992.
If you had even tried to explain to 10 year old me that I would be playing a game based on magical blockchains where your funny looking digital cards has real value I would have probably responded, "I am 10 and I don't understand this, please let me get back to playing Sonic." But if I was a really smart 10 year old (I wasn't) who fully grasped the enormity of what you were explaining to me, I would have been pretty hyped. I would also have probably bought Bitcoin in 1993 and been a trazillionaire now. Hindsight is always 20/20, right?

On that note, after 30+ years of playing games daily I still have actual 20/20 vision so take that, Mum. Not even years of eye abuse can bring me down!

Anyway, I have gone right off track now.

I'm not even mad when I open up 4 credits once again because my gratitude bank is full right to the top. Games are awesome and the direction they are moving is astounding. I'm just happy to be here.
