Most of the summoners that we play with are rare. When we get them up to level 6 we can pair them with level 8 commons, level 6 rares, level 5 epics and level 3 legendary monsters.
At this point in my series I've integrated cards from Rebellion with cards from Chaos Legion. I addressed those groups separately through level 4.
I think these are some of the most impactful neutral monsters to start leveling up if you happen to have some level 6 rare summoners to pair them with. These upgrades will also work if you have level 3 legendary summoners, level 5 epic summoners or level 8 common summoners.
At level 6 Xenith Monk picks up the void ability. That's tough to beat in the little league ruleset.
At level 8 Nimbledook Ranger picks up a second ranged attack damage. With double strike that's more like a 3rd and 4th ranged attack damage.
At level 7 Arkemis picks up the forcefield ability.
At level 5 Magi of Chaos picks up the oppress ability. This still applies when your opponent's monster didn't start with an attack but received one through an adjacent unit with weapons training.
When picking out new cards to level up, it's important to consider whether you'll be playing in modern or wild format. All of the cards that I discussed in today's post are legal in modern. If you start to level these cards up remember that they will revert to a lower level if you play them with a lower level summoner.
I would love to hear what some of your favorite cards are to level up especially as I have limited experience playing cards at these levels. I'll keep pointing out the ones I can. Another great place to find them is the cards that you get beat by on the battlefield.
