Not one of those succes stories... or is it?

Hi there!

I've started playing Splinterlands since August 2021.
This is my first blog and it's a short story about how I ended up playing Splinterlands.

(Rewind sound) It's 2010.

This bitcoin thing sounded pretty cool, I started mining from my first computer at my parents place and threw away the computer with my wallet… because I needed a new game computer.

What?!

Yes, I know… Some of my friends still remind me of this big mistake.

So many years later and a lot of regret I finally bought BTC in December 2017 and… I felt even worse.

...

But luckely I didn't sell.

(When the doom music kicks in.)

I learned about the future possibilities and a few years later I traded BTC for ETH. Staked my ETH, prices went up and finally after all those years I became a millionaire!

A millionaire in my mind, because I made a 200$ profit.

Pretty sweet right? I know… It's not one of those 1000x success stories but my view about crypto changed. I learned a lot.
Crypto became much more about the utility instead of making a quick buck.

And to be honest, trading utility is easier if you temporarily forget that it also has actual value.

So how I ended up playing Splinterlands?

Well, one day while I was “searching an opponent” in an online collectible card game I discovered this new token called SPS.

(Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger fades in)

Splinterlands?
Crypto and gaming… How is it possible that I never stumbled upon this?

A card game you own, play, rent and sell?
Let's check out the whitepaper first.
SPS, DEC, guild brawls, land, a solid team and so much upcoming utility.
Brilliant, I'm in.

And that is how I became a Splinterlands player (and a millionaire in my mind).

Thank you for reading!

Hi, I'm trying to become a more socially active member in Splinterlands.
Just seeing where the wind blows, I hope to find some new guild members along the way.
