In this video I will attempt to explain my concerns and confidence with respect to Splinterlands LAND. Is this project dead or dying? Is there hope for the future? Let's discuss!
Is Land in Splinterlands DEAD? Here are my concerns:
Splinterlands land, while a promising concept, might be facing challenges for several reasons:
- i. Low Player Engagement: If the game mechanics or rewards related to land are not engaging enough for players, they might lose interest. Land in Splinterlands might not have sufficient utility or incentives to keep players invested, leading to a lack of activity and a perception of being "dead."
- ii. Complexity and Accessibility: Land ownership and management in blockchain-based games can be complex and intimidating for new players. If Splinterlands' land system is perceived as too difficult to understand or interact with, it may deter players from actively participating, contributing to its decline.
- iii. Economic Viability: The economic model surrounding land might not be sustainable or attractive. If the costs of acquiring and maintaining land outweigh the benefits or potential earnings, players might not see it as a worthwhile investment, leading to reduced interest and activity.
- iv. Technical Issues: Any technical problems or bugs related to land functionality can seriously impact player experience. If players encounter persistent issues or glitches, it can result in frustration and a decline in engagement, causing the land aspect of the game to seem inactive or "dead."
Having said all that, I have great confidence and here are three main areas upon which my confidence is founded:
Despite any challenges, Splinterlands land could still be a huge success for several reasons:
- i. Unique Ownership and Value Proposition: The concept of owning virtual land in a blockchain-based game offers players a unique value proposition. If managed well, this can create a sense of ownership and investment that traditional games lack. The potential for land to appreciate in value over time, especially with new features or updates, can drive long-term interest and investment.
- ii. Innovative Gameplay and Features: If Splinterlands continues to innovate and expand the functionality of land, it can revitalize interest. Adding new gameplay mechanics, utilities, or interactions that enhance the land's value and role in the game can keep players engaged and attract new ones. For example, integrating land with gameplay features, quests, or rewards can make it more appealing.
- iii. Community and Ecosystem Growth: A strong, active community and a growing ecosystem can be key to success. If Splinterlands has a dedicated player base and continues to build partnerships, develop the game, and engage with its community, it can maintain and even boost interest in land ownership. Community-driven initiatives, events, and updates can keep the momentum going and drive long-term success.
- pealing.
These factors, combined with effective marketing and ongoing development, can contribute to the continued success and growth of Splinterlands land. For all these reasons and more, I continue to believe in where we are at and where we might end up. And that will remain my position for as long as this game remains both fun and rewarding.
If that sounds interesting definitely stick around and stay tuned.
As always, thank you for your time and attention, have an amazing day and God bless.

There is no reason to invest in LAND right now and some players with significant investment in land have recently exited. Watch Alex Twinblade recent YouTube video...
Having said that I don't think we can say Land is dead, it is just not a priority for investment for me right now. I believe SPS and HIVE are better bets right now :)
