But it'll take some time to get used to and even though the basic version is free to play, you need to invest some money to be able to really earn playing the game.

Really, you can invest and earn while playing it?
Yes! This is one of the main aspects of the game. You earn DEC, which is a crypto currency and can also earn cards, that are NFTs. With those assets you can earn SPS, through daily airdrops - SPS is another crypto-currency. This is only a very short version. There are many other aspects inside the game, through which you can earn cryptos and NFTs (daily/season quests, guilds, packs, and coming: land). It is quite complex to understand all aspects of it, but I find it easy to get started.
There is a lot of content in C/Splinterlands on this game, you should definitely check it out, if you are interested. I am also doing regular post on Splinterlands. If you check out my blog / all posts section you can find dozens of posts on Splinterlands.
And I find that the game is fun ;-) Not only about earning money.
