Weapons Training

rules (8).png

Weapons Training allows adjacent units with no attack to gain this unit's weapon attack up to a maximum of three.
Which means that units with the biggest damage can in the best circumstances contribute a huge amount of damage to the team effort. There are some great examples below in this list of Weapons Training cards.

Which cards do you think to be the most effective? Do you have them all?
- Prices have been applied where applicable to the cards in the Weapons Training List below. All prices were obtained through Peakmonsters.com using the Ability filter "Weapons Training".

Moxian Rebel

Multicard Template (11).png

1 BCX of either Gold or Regular Foil will provide Weapons Training

Gold Foil BCX cost:
23,016.354 DEC or 19.00 USD
Regular Foil BCX cost:
2,786.190 DEC or 2.30 USD

One of the few purchasable cards on this list and expensive for a Rare at that! A member of the most recent set of Rebellion cards. Moxian Rebel is a Rare card that has found its way into recent metas due to the magical weapons training. At the lowest mana caps there is certainly a very viable strategy to be used. Considering the cost - a worthwhile addition even for a couple of lowly BCX. A card I want to pick up to boost my Gold Foil neutral deck for certain.

Rage

Multicard Template (10).png

2 BCX Regular Foil or 1 of Gold Foil will provide Weapons Training
Gold Foil BCX cost:
363,416.111 or 300.00 USD
Regular Foil BCX cost:
27,583.283 or 22.770 USD

Total Regular Foil Weapons Training cost:
82,629 DEC or 68.310 USD

A monstrous card. Where do we begin? With twelve health four damage and speed alongside both Flying and Void, Rage is a beastly card. But it gets much more interesting when you add in the Weapons Training available at second level providing a massive boost in damage to unlikely attacking candidates. A costly addition to any lineup but one that could be extremely worthwhile as Rage is the only card on this list requiring a second level to attain Weapons Training.

FireDivideer.png

Berix Snakeye

Multicard Template (9).png

I do not often see Berix in use but for any Dragon deck there is certainly a good use for three ranged damage and seven armour. Adding Void Armoyr and Weapons Training into the mix makes this a great addition to any summoner's deck. For a Close Range ruleset, you have a beastly addition to the lineup and being Dragon, there are plenty of opportunities to make combinations to surprise the opponent.

FireDivideer.png

Skok Dustblight

Multicard Template (8).png

I have had the fortune of pulling a couple of BCX of Skok Duskblight and the magical Weapons Training is excellent but I find this to be a bit too expensive for eight mana personally. Certainly, it is good to have another way to really boost the damage Riftwing offers a battle (especially past fourth level with Backfire) but overall I find this card lacking compared to other offerings at least at the first level.

FireDivideer.png

Zyriel

Multicard Template (7).png

1 BCX of either Gold or Regular Foil will provide Weapons Training
Gold Foil BCX cost:
264,908.673 DEC or 219.00 USD
Regular Foil BCX cost:
58,313.778 DEC or 48.208 USD

I have come up against Zyriel a few times now and it usually spells disaster for me. Great damage Life Leech and Weapons Training, there is significant value in this card for me and with it being versatile being both Life and Death, it offers so much more than Skok Dustblight for example. This is a promo card and as such its price has stayed relatively stable compared to the rest of the market over the same time period.

FireDivideer.png

Aves Sturgis

Multicard Template (6).png

I love Aves Sturgis. I had the fortune of pulling a Gold Foil version and whilst Aves only has a health of three, at second level it gains Divine Shield which is very helpful. I have an example of it being use in battle here. Personally, I am a big fan and combine it with Pelacor Conjurer and you have a nice combination.

FireDivideer.png

Ava The Undaunted

Multicard Template (5).png

I recently acquired three BCX of Ava the Undaunted in quick succession. Whilst I am yet to use her, at second level Ava gains Shatter and with Weapons Training that means you are more than likely to break through any and all armour on the same turn which is always a good bonus to have.

FireDivideer.png

Croire

Multicard Template (4).png

1 BCX of either Gold or Regular Foil will provide Weapons Training
Gold Foil BCX cost:
33,252.691 DEC or 27.490 USD
Regular Foil BCX cost:
2,507.560 DEC or 2.073 USD

A card I am yet to come up against so have quite limited knowledge of. Weapons Training is always a good ability to have especially when you have high damage. Unfortunately Croire's damage is quite low at least at the early levels and whilst it does offer the second placed monster the chance to melee attack, I can't help but feel underwhelmed by this card at first glance. I'd love to be proved wrong on this one!

FireDivideer.png

Daarg Deadblast

Multicard Template (3).png

1 BCX of either Gold or Regular Foil will provide Weapons Training
Gold Foil BCX cost:
240,716.100 DEC or 199.00 USD
Regular Foil BCX cost:
27,519.052 DEC or 22.750 USD

This is quite the Meta card we have here. As a strong support card at second level, we have Swiftness and Triage both incredibly useful abilities alongside two magical damage which can be applied as Weapons Training. I wonder if this card is priced too cheap with regard to mana cost? Certainly an awesome card to own especially at second level. A really strong card amongst the Rebellion set. Makes me want to open a bunch of packs to pull one!

FireDivideer.png

Kulu Mastermind

Multicard Template (2).png

Kulu Mastermind - I am of the opinion that this card should be banned at least until I get my hands on just one BCX of it. All kidding aside, this is a beastly card and one of the stronger Soul Bound Reward cards. I hope I manage to pull one of these before they go out of print. The damage on this card is nice and paired with Weapons Training and Opportunity make this a danger on any battlefield. It is fair to say when I see this turn up in the lineups it usually drains my confidence a good bit.

FireDivideer.png

Ferexian Hero

Multicard Template (1).png

Ferexian Hero is a card I rarely use as I find the mana can be better spent most of the time in the Fire deck. There are some really good opportunities for combination especially with Gladius cards which do not often get a run out in my lineup for Fire. Combine Ferexian Hero with Krash Wanderford and you have decent health and a pretty awesome speed plus Swiftness and all of that neatly benefitted by Weapons Training. Then of course you could always add in Iidri Fyre at second level to gain Redemption as well as Taunt. The bottom line here is when I play Ferexian Hero I need to combine it with a few different cards as opposed to other options in this list which could be played on their own.

FireDivideer.png

Dalthin Ironhood

Multicard Template.png

1 BCX of either Gold or Regular Foil will provide Weapons Training
Gold Foil BCX cost:
47,175.517 DEC or 39.00 USD
Regular Foil BCX cost:
2,561.993 DEC or 2.118 USD

A card which I rarely see from the Rebellion set and at the levels I have been playing (Gold and below) I find it to be underpowered. Seven mana cost for five armour and five health is good but the two damage with Weapons Training is not as much as I'd like from a non magical source of damage. Overall, it is probably a good option to have as it brings ranged damage to the Fire deck but not an option I will likely run to buy anytime soon.
