Hello everyone, the purpose of this blog for me is to share my experience about the splinterlands as a game and the community. I just started the game a few days ago and the purpose of me being invested in this game is to earn an income, and by looking up at the game I saw that it has a potential. Another thing that made me interested in the game is the low starting invesment, you can rarely find games as big as splinterlands that have a starting investment of 10$.
Going into the game my real goal is to earn money, but as I play the game that mindset is slowly seeping away because the game is so fun, being a fanatic of card games splinterlands gives a refreshing feeling while playing the game. It reminds me of a certain type of card game(yugi-oh) when I was a child that is why I just fell in love with the game itself.
Being a beginner to this game there are lots of struggles from understanding all the skills of both monster and summoner cards, as well as the proper counter for certain type of cards and as you go higher into the rank another variable comes in, apart from the constant change of mana cap each game there can be specific rules for that game such as earthquake or poison. This variables will surprise you if you are not well informed on what they do you will struggle a lot. This is where the community comes in, I just want to say that this is one of the healthiest and beginner friendly community I've ever encountered especially in the chat server of my country. The OG players are there to help you and lots if not most of your questions will be answered and they will give you tips as well such as the giving card recommendations for climbing the ladder or giving players advices on what to do at certain type of maps. Gaming communities like these are so rare, some communities makes fun of beginners and be mad at them. That's why it is so fun being apart of this community. All in all I want to say that from the game to the community this is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever encountered. My plan was to earn an income in this game but I think I also want to see the community grow. As the community grow I hope that everyone keeps on having fun despite having issues sometime.
