The Ruleset

image.png

  • Rulesets - Fire & Regret, Briar Patch & Fog of War
  • Mana Cap - 31
  • Active Elements - image.png image.png image.png image.png

Here's my starting lineup

Summoner: Immortalis

  • With the ruleset and element pick that I got magic was the only way to not damage yourself
  • Usually people do not play magic in this position as this is very predictable that said I still felt like my enemy might go magic and even if not Immortalis was still a great summoner with -1 hp and Shatter still being useful
  • Void - 50% less damage (rounded up) from magic attacks or 0 damage from magic attacks of 1 power
  • Shatter - Successful attacks destroy the target's armor
1st Position: Mycelic Slipspawn

  • Mycelic Slipspawn was my main tanks for this battle
  • Main reason I like Mycelic Slipspawn here a lot is his Taunt ability
  • I planned to play two healers to work with the Taunt and my Mycelic Slipspawn unkillable
  • Taunt - Draws the attacks of enemy units. Does not affect Reach, Scattershot, Wingbreak, or enemy units in the first position
  • Forcefield - Attacks dealing 5 base damage or more instead deal 1 damage
2nd Position: Fungus Fiend

  • Fungus Fiend was the last monster I picked for this team
  • The main reason was I had 0 mana left and better to play him than leave the spot open
  • Main idea for him was just to tank a hit or two, maybe even reflect damage back to the attacker as he would also have the Thorns and Return Fire
3rd Position: Creeping Ooze

  • Creeping Ooze is also a great simple monster to play in every match you possible can
  • Main thing with his is the 1 mana cost and Slow combo
  • In this battle he also might deal some damage with Thorns and Return Fire
  • Slow - -1 speed to all enemy units
4th Position: Goblin Psychic

  • Goblin Psychic was my first healer for this team
  • love this healer more than any of the healers in the game as he also has Affliction and same great stats for being 6 mana
  • Tank Heal - Each round, restores 1/3 of max health (rounded down) to the allied unit in the first position
  • Affliction - 50% chance to apply Afflicted after a successful attack. Afflicted units cannot be healed
5th Position: Mushroom Seer

  • Mushroom Seer was my take on countering my enemy playing magic
  • And even if my enemy should play something other than magic Mushroom Seer has not the worst stats so he is still a great damage dealer
  • Silence - -1 magic power to all enemy units
6th Position: Wood Nymph

  • Wood Nymph was my last monster in this team and also the second healer
  • Even tho his stats are worse and he does not have the Affliction ability he is still a great monster as heal is so strong in my opinion and he only costs 4 mana anyways
  • Tank Heal - Each round, restores 1/3 of max health (rounded down) to the allied unit in the first position

Starting board

image.png

  • Already after seeing the starting board I was confident I would win because it seemed my enemy was lacking damage to brake through my double heal Taunt combo
  • Also my enemy played both melee and ranged monsters so if I could just stay alive long enough they will take themself down
  • He did managed to pick a great counter summoner for my team but he did not play any Void monsters to utilize it fully
  • But my predictions could still be off by a mile so lets start the battle and have a look

image.png

Here's how the battle went

1st & 2nd Round

image.png

  • After first two rounds the board was still looking quite the same as in the start
  • None of the monsters on either side had fallen to this point but his Giant Alpine Skink and Swamp Spitter were beginning to look quite low already
  • But anything could still happen so lets keep watching
3rd & 4th Round

image.png

  • After next two great rounds I was starting to look quite confident as he just did not have any damage left and I outhealed him hard
  • The only scary thing was that my Taunt was quite low in the start of the next round therefore my healer needed to out speed his Swamp Spitter to keep the Taunt alive and win without losing any of my monsters
  • Lets hope for the best and keep watching
5th & 6th Round

image.png

  • The 5th & 6th rounds started with a great out speeded heal which kept my Taunt alive after that it was just a simply a clean up for me and now I was faced with a board that looked one round away from the victory screen for me
  • I just needed to take down his last two standing monsters and the battle would end with that
7th Round

image.png

  • It took me 3 attacks to kill my enemies last standing monsters
  • After his River Nymph and Mar Toren Trader had fallen I took the victory without losing any of my monsters
  • Battle Replay Link

Summary

  • This battle was definitely heavily one sided but still fun to watch
  • The strategy to take away from this battle is the basic double heal Taunt combo
  • This battle was especially calming to watch as I did not lose any of my monsters and that remained me of the idea of Splinterlands survival gamemode, this would have been the greatest battle outcome in this format
