Which cards I rented to get to Bronze I

Hi there!

In my first post
I showed how to climb up the league using the SPS and Vouchers generated by leaving SPS in Staking, selling them on Hive and converting them back to DEC, renting the cards instead of buying them (thus spending nothing but the first initial investment) .

Using this strategy, however, involves knowing exactly how to use the DEC generated, therefore knowing which cards to rent.

So what are the very few cards that allowed me to get to the Bronze I league (and very close to Silver League)?

for this purpose i warmly suggest to rent 2 summoners first (quite cheap to rent too !)

Most powerful Summoners to rent for their cost (Bronze league)

Mylor Crowling

If you don't have that many DEC to spend and can only buy 1 or 2 cards, this is definitely the one to go for. At the time of writing it costs about 3 DEC per day renting this card. Gives the thorns ability to ALL of your cards, that is whenever one of your cards is dealt a melee attack, this card does damage back to the creature attacking it.
This ability, in my opinion, is particularly powerful especially in low-mana matches where it is sufficient to select cards with the greatest Health/Mana cost ratio (among the Earth ghost cards you have from the start: Hill Giant, Failed Summoner, Mycelic Morphoid, Harvester)
For this very reason, I recommend Mylor Crowling to those who have a low or no budget to spend: you can safely use this summoner in a pure ghost card deck and, playing wisely, it will allow you to get up to Bronze II, even if you only rent 1 card: Mylor Crowling.

Lorna Shine

Not as powerful as Mylor Crowling and needs more skills to make use of its ability but it's even cheaper. You can rent her for under 1 DEC per day.
Divine Shield allows all of your cards to avoid the first attack. This can become a huge advantage in the Bronze League. Imagine adding a Truthspeaker and an Armorsmith to the team (warning: only in games with not too low mana cap) and your survivability will be very high. Light Splinter is full of cards that give buffs. Be wary that the problem with this splinter is exactly not to overdo with the buffs available and then realize that you have too few cards dedicated to attack enemy ones.

Bear in mind that there are other powerful summoner cards, like Owster Rotwell or Brighton Bloom that are equally quite cheap to rent. I only suggest Mylor Crowling and Lorna Shine because You can use them with their respective ghost card that you have from the start, while in order to use efficiently Owster Rotwell and Brighton Bloom you need to rent some monster card.
(You can use Brighton Bloom with ghost card and get a fair amount of success with it but it won't be enough to get you out of the lower Bronze leagues without renting additional monster cards).

The next post will be my first real in-depth view of the whole Splinterlands airdrop system, full of link and calculations and, as such, it will discuss the strategies to increase the SPS and DEC you own as quickly as possible through airdrop and staking.
Stay connected and have a nice day ;)
