Hello Hive gaming community! I’m taking part in the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. For this week, I’ll be writing a report about our brawl. I play free to play so all the cards I have were earned in the game. I appreciate that even if we don't spend a penny we can still play and win against higher level teams. I have some matches that I won for my post today.

⚔️🛡️ Gank's Squadron Guild 🛡️⚔️

We are Gank's Squadron, an old guild created four years ago in 2021. We regularly take part in weekly brawls. I don't have a regular fray, our leader assigns me to frays and delegate cards to me. I find it more fun because I play with cards I haven't played with before. They were much stronger than the Foundation cards I usually play with. I take a lot of time building my team in brawls because I'm unfamiliar with their abilities. I have to figure out how to form a strong team.

I'm grateful to our guild for their support. Our leader even gifted me with Foundation cards to help with my progress.

⚔️🛡️ First Battle 🛡️⚔️

In the last brawl had me in Fray 1 because the usual guy in that fray was on holidays. It was easier to form teams because I already know their strengths and weaknesses.

The first match had three modifiers. I had to use melee oriented units.

Earth is my first choice when it's available. My best gladiator cards are of the Earth element. Quora has double attacks and a lot of health. Then there's Katrelba who attacks twice every time. I can only choose one in a battle and Quora is my first choice like in this one. I had Quora in front followed by Dire Bear. The position of Dire Bear is feasible due to Manuevers modifier. The Dire Bear will have Reach ability. Next up is Mad Gear Head followed by Great Bear Druid who like Quora has double attacks. Vengeful Monk and Vicious Quilliun completed my team. My opponent had higher level cards that had higher attack than mine. They attacked in the back while Quora was taking out the front. She is a super card that carried the team to victory.

⚔️🛡️ Second Battle 🛡️⚔️

The next match had Counterspell modifier and I did not choose Quora. I thought Katrelba will be a better choice in this match because of Counterspell modifier that returns magic attacks.

Dread Tafarian takes the front spot followed by Mad Gearhead. Then New Beluroc Aegis followed by Vengeful Monk and Vicious Quilliun. Last is Katrelba Gobson. This are my usual cards in Frontier battles except for Katrelba. My opponent had the same set of cards with Quora for a gladiator card instead of Katrelba. This is why minding the modifier is important. Quora is a strong card but the counterspell modifier works against her. Choosing her will be a bad decision. Katrelba was the better card in this match.

⚔️🛡️ Rewards 🛡️⚔️

I received 2,400 merits and purchased two reward chests. I don't earn SPS because I haven't purchased a Spellbook yet. I got a new card, Captain Katie. I often lose to opponents with this card and I'm glad to get it. She has high damage attack and a nice addition to my Light element cards. It would be cool if I get a legendary card for my next chests. I hope to get one soon.
