Watching one of @luke-wtp he hit on one of the things I've been thinking about in his video about the reward card changes based on level for the league.

I joined in Feb of this year 2022 and one of the things I heard about Splinterlands is it moved slow and steady and they have been successful and still going for the last five years. This was one of the draw for me to the game and even as the team started to implement changes in May and June or when the community asked for something, the team's response was we need wait and see how the change we just implemented plays out and collect data.

Then SPS replaced DEC in the rank rewards and within days there was a proposal out to change the distribution of the SPS and set up percentages per league and this is before the staked SPS part of the rank reward changes is in effect. So all of a sudden the slow and steady disappeared.

Lets review some of the changes that has happened since I joined in late Feb / early March.
When I joined the airdrop was going on and there 5 ish months left it but it took me time before I was getting something from the airdrop.

The daily quest was 5 battles and you win a set of chest based on the league you are in and the primary reward in those chest were cards and DEC.

Then as the airdrop ended we started to get hit with changes.

• The rank reward changes
• Changed the daily quest to focus
  Initially it was just a single splinter now we have more focuses.
• SPS removed for DEC.
  SPS was redistributed to be bucketed across the league.
• Proposal to change SPS for purchasing Licenses and RW packs to DEC
• Update rank reward rshare earning based on card levels for the different leagues.
• SPS coming to brawls
• SPS distribution for brawls based on tier.

While this doesn't seem like a lot of changes it is a large amount of changes for how players earn rewards. When I joined I head a lot you can play in gold with 1 BCX card and everyone can earn. Now we hear all those people with 1 BCX in gold are "exploiting" the systems and the rewards have greatly been pushed up to gold and beyond. So bronze and silver can still earn and are earning more than previously the pace compared to the other league just isn't the same.

On top of all these changes we are in a bear market.

So my take current is overall it's a bit of both there has been a ton of changes in SL lately and a lot of corrections to the rewards so more of it has been pushed up higher in the leagues and on top of it soon will possibly require higher level cards. People are getting whiplash and on top of that feel like their rewards are being pulled away from them. So both of these together has cause some disgruntledness in the community but then we are in a bear market so people don't have the fund to put into the game the way they may want to be able to earn more.

I think overall we need to take a step back sometime and take a depth breath and understand SL is trying to make something that will last over time and we have to trust in their vision. Do we need to like it? No and we should give our feed back so the team understands where the community stands. Do we need to take it? No and we should definitely push back on things we don't agree with and / or think will devalue our assets.

So make sure you keep up on the proposal and make sure you are voting on the proposals. I know a lot of people don't think their votes will count verses the whales but overall the more people that do vote the more votes needed to pass a proposals. So the more people that vote the more whales that have to come out to vote for it.

There are also whales that may think the what you do and vote in the same direction you do.
