Hi guys,
just a quick word of introduction:
i play my 3rd season at the moment
- first season peaked diamond 3
- second season peaked challenger 3
- third season (right now) i peak diamond 1
i want to share with you the chances of staying break even with rentals vs. daily playing rewards and my quest rewards.
So this season i rent around 60 cards and i play
- life
- earth
- dragon or death (preferred dragon, but due to the market conditions i had to switch to death)
my current rental costs per day sit at around 2200 dec.
i own only level1 or 2 cards (except for one lvl 5 sand worm), so i have to rent to keep in these leagues.
lets take a look at my quest rewards today
so due to the fact, that i need dec at the moment to keep rentals going, these rewards were kinda terrible. This resulted in me playing very much, to get my dec goal for the day and brought me down to 43% ecr which is kinda frustrating.
at the same time, ppl with better skill or collection are pulling ahead, so that dec rewards in diamond 2 (where i am at the moment) seem to get lower.
this combined with rising market prices for rentals will move me in an interesting spot for the rest of the season.
I wanted to reach challenger 3 again, but at the moment i highly doubt that i can make it, because i already had to let many good rentals go cos i couldnt keep up with the price.
so far i am looking forward to better rewards tomorrow :)
I am happy for any input and feedback so let me know what you would like to hear :)
have nice evening
best of luck and success to you!
Renting many cards for the chance of higher rewards sounds like a risky strategy to me; hope it works out for you soon
Until now it worked out ok! I peaked at 11k dec and then spend a little for a card.
But as i said prices for rental skyrocket at the moment so i think it will be hard to keep.up the pace.
Maybe i just need to get a lil lucky with rewards ;)
At around 300+ chests i hit 2 epic and 2x 2000 dec so i think that could be a little luckier.

Rentals are crazy expensive indeed, was lucky to get some early on and try to keep them going. 2200 a day seems like a lot to cover with rewards. I'm between 600-700 and that can be done with ranked battle dec gains alone. So I don't rely much on luck with chests.
That being said it only takes one real good hit with a big dec bag in a chest or gold foil epic/legendary to really get ahead. More chests=more chance of that happening!
What I also do now is rent out all my owned cards (except for lvl 1 commons that are priced at 0.1 dec a day) to off set some of the rental costs. They're mostly useless in diamond anyway at the lower levels. Brings in about 90 dec a day and it grows when I level cards or find new gold/epic/legendaries. Could be helpful for you!
Thats true indeed. I now "paused" my game. Means i let all my rentals run out and let my ecr go back to 100 so that i can start the next season with full ecr. Target ist to now do only the daily and make rent that fits it.
