This week has been a very busy week for me, as I have just gone thru my tonsil surgery and recovering now. And, what's interesting was Splinterlands became my only game that I played in the ward. Yes you read it right! Fortunately, nurses and doctors are very lenient now as they allow you to bring your laptop in (although I know that you can play it on mobile, but I still prefer the PC version). And this is my first play-to-earn game, I am not a gamer at any point, but keen to learn and experience.
Playing this for almost 3 weeks, made me draw some conclusions to this game, on gameplay, etc. You can add some to the comments later:
- If you are new to trading card games (TCG)a lot simplerhere), this game is way easier than that., just like me, then in my opinion, @splinterlands is than Pokemon, because elements do not really matter (aside of the rules, which you can find in @tedus post
- And I would actually recommend you to start the game with its tutorial. It helps me a lot to kickstart.
- Mana cost utilization must be managed. Just like the main purpose of having management which is to make the company become efficient and effective in achieving goals. Same goes to this game, when you are given a mana cost limit, what you need to do is to **maximize the usage **of it in order to get the biggest aggregate damage, the fastest average speed and the highest average HP.
- Good cards do not guarantee you to win, as sometimes, some rules can favor those who bring average cards. So be smart in choosing cards
- A lot of questions from my friends who I referred this game asked me whether this game was a pay-to-win (P2W) game. My short answer is a NO. Splurging in this game will not guarantee you to win as what I mentioned in point 4. But it does accelerate you to climb up to higher leagues as you are able to at least rent better cards or wider range of cardsTime is the actual asset that you have. Depositting a bit of money to accelerate the game will save your time". It does not mean that this game is not available for free players (aside of $10 Spellbook), but it is recommended to deposit a bit (budget that you use to deposit to games only).. There is a saying by my friend who referred me to this game @evanstinger of @peakmonsters guild, he said that "
- If you are F2P (free to play) - aside of $10 Spellbook players, can you play this game and climb the league? My short answer will still be YES, but it will just take longer, as you need more winning matches just to get more DEC for renting more or better cards.
- PeakMonsters.com is a GREAT TOOL that can help you to manage your RENTALS!!! This is REAL, not trying to kiss their a, but I use it on daily basis in the past week just to check whether my rentals are too much, or any bargains and so on.
So, to conclude the writing, this game is a very easy game, not requiring some fancy hardwares. Simple yet strategic game, which is not only fun, but also trains your brain to think strategically and at the same time creating strategy that is effective and efficient. Have you got your account?
