#01 - Done with Doom and Gloom

There continues to be a great deal of doom and gloom around the Splinterlands community that I believe to be unwarranted. Rather than mumble and grumble, I have decided to do something about it.

I believe that the changes that Matt and the team have introduced over the last 12 months set the foundations for a sustainable future. DEC is now the currency for all in-game transactions. The problems with bots have been elegantly resolved, allowing for both types of payers - automation and P-2-P - at a cost commensurate with effort. Glint makes the daily accumulation of points fun, while soul-bound cards allows for generous rewards without risking the leaching of value. The new system for selling packs ensures that the release size is just enough for the current player base, and will become more valuable in the future if and when more players enter the eco-system.

This is where we, the community, must focus.

There is some great content out there, Duane, Aftersound, NFT Gaming and Collectables, Neal McSpadden, and Peoples Guild being my favorites. I have thought about creating my own too, but realize that I would be unlikely to add more to the current voice. So I have decided to focus on a segment where I have much more influence. Business.
