Now That I Got Splinterland Credits What Do I Do?

I'm learning a bit about the credits and it seems that they can be used in the shop or marketplace.

I only have 2500 credits which is worth $2.50 so I'm wondering what to do with the credits. It's apparent to me that they don't appreciate or accumulate so just having them in my account doesn't do much for me.

I'm about the most basic player you can be and my learning curve is steep. What I mean is that while I'm willing to learn the game, I'm not winning a bunch of battles against other players. I'd like to take advantage of the credits in the way that would benefit me with the appreciation of assets or help me get more done in the game.
