Battle Mages Secrets: The Big Four

in Splinterlands9 months ago

Hello everyone, This is @cantfoldaces participating in the Weekly Battle Mage Secrets Challenge, in the best #play2earn game out there!! #Splinterlands!!

What's up everyone! I might have noticed that this season became a little softer compared to the previous seasons as it became less frequent to face OP Meta high level decks on the Silver League.
In fact, for the first time ever, I made it into Gold League and I'm super happy about that!

With this let's get started:

Fab Four

  • Up to four Units can be used.

Well nothing much to talk about except you gotta put up 4 Monsters instead of the 6 usual monsters.

It won't pose a problem in low Mana battles nut actually a bit harder to deal with while having High Mana battle as you struggle to choose your monsters to put into action.

Without further ado let's got strating:

  • High Mana Cap 41 Mana
  • Water, Life and Death Available
  • Fab Four + Close Range Rulesets

With much Mana available I decided to go as follow:

Summoner

Ability: +1 Armor & +1 Speed

I've always mentionned how OP Kelya and the water team is on the Silver League, however, it feels its ever more powerful and impactful in the highest levels given the Water Team Monsters natural aggressiveness and tankiness in addition to kelya Buffs!

Tank Position

Ability: Trample + Enrage + Retaliate

Diemonshark base stats are already great for tankiness and Damage with a total of 16 Hit Points and 4 Damage with decent Speed! But what makes it overpowered is the Abilities:

  • Trample opens the path to an additional attack after a kill
  • Enrage boosts the damage & Speed! one thing to notice the insane evasiveness this monsters gets
  • Retaliate: it's insane how this ability can change the flow of the battle!

2nd Position

Ability: Void + Phase + Forcefield

Another solid tank especially against the Magic Damage with the Void ability & the ability to evade any type of damage with Phase
Forcefield is crucial when facing a high damage tank!
Let's not forget about the decent 3 Magic Damage that goes right into enemy HP.

3rd Position

Ability: Opportunity + Poison + Demoralize

Similar to Diemonshark, Deeplurker gets a massive boost on the highest level! Not only it attacks the lowest health enemy with the Opportunity but got a 50% to inflict Poison that can lead to a takedown of the very next round
Demoralize is huge in facing a mirror battle as it nerf most of the enemy water team damage!

4th position

Abiltiy: Snipe + camouflage + Cleanse

Since we want to make use of the ruleset, I've decided to go for a high damage Ranged monster. First the camouflage makes it safe from any sneak/snipe/opportunity
Snipe makes it target the non-melee monster on the Rear position and Cleanse would be useful on my Diemonshark in case it got any negative statut effect!

Pre Round 1

Facing against a Possibilus with the Duo Diemonshark + Coastal sentry promises to be a rough battle!

Round 1

image.png

  • The Demoralize from Diemonshark comes in handy as it nerfs the damage of the enemy's enraged Diemonshark
  • Back and forth attacks attacks from all monsters leading to no take down this round
  • Spotlight on the Retaliate: Coastal Sentry double strike resulted in a Double Retaliate leading to the enemy dropping to 3 health!

Round 2

image.png

  • A pure display from the Diemonshark with another Retaliate from the mirror enemy attack, leading to a takedown, the Trample to take down Coastal Sentry for a DOUBLE Kill
  • My Deeplurker one-shots the mirrored Deeplurker with a poisonned frontal attack!
  • Only Runemancer Kye is left against my Army! but ending the masterpiece display of Diemonshark!

Round 3

image.png

  • Not too much happened in this round as it only took a couple of shots from Djinn Oshannus & Deeplurker to seal the Victory
  • With this I've got a reward at +20 Trophies & 1.2 SPS

After Battle Commentary

  • Diemonshark at max level is an OP monster with both Aggression and Defense and the damage it can pull up is insane thanks to the potential of Retaliate and Trample
  • In high mana Fav Four it seems we can't pull a support monster since we want to put as much damage as possible.
