Reflecting on Another Year in Splinterlands

As the year comes to a close, it's the perfect time to look back on the incredible journey in Splinterlands and set some exciting goals for the new year. This post is a mix of nostalgia and ambition—celebrating the wins, learning from the losses, and planning for an even better year ahead.

My Stats from the Past Year
Before diving into the most epic battle, let’s take a moment to look at some stats that highlight the year’s adventures:

Summoners:

It’s no surprise that Lux Vega takes the crown as my favorite summoner this year. With nearly 3,300 battles and an impressive 57% win rate, Lux has been the MVP of my lineup. Her versatility makes her the go-to choice, and I’ll definitely showcase a battle where she shines.

Units:

This part caught me off guard: Supply Runner ended up being my most-used unit! Speed boosts and utility made this card a quiet hero throughout the year. Coming in second is a more predictable contender: Doctor Blight. I added him to my collection last year, and he’s already climbing the ranks of my favorite units.

So, naturally, I’m thinking—why not share a battle featuring both Lux and Doctor Blight? It’s a combination that highlights strategy and adaptability, and it’s hard not to love how these two cards can turn the tide in a match.

So lets have a example battle where both the Lux and Doctor Blight are shining.

Strategy

Medium mana battle where non flying unit will take damage every turn
Often in this case i select life or death with the earthquake rules set. Both team have enough flying unit to choose from.

Rulesets

Earthquake:
All non flying unit will receive 2 damage every turn starting from round 2.
Flying can by removed when a unit is attacked by an unit with snare.

The Lineup

Summoner

CardReason
My most played summoner of the year combined with one of my most played units of the year.

Monsters Lineup

#1#2#3#4#5#6

Blinding Reflector (lvl 10)
First unit has magic reflect because i expect some magic unit.

Pelacor Conjurer (lvl 10)
This unit has also magic reflect but also important because it has flying. This way its protected from and earthquake damage.

Celestial Harpy (lvl 8)
Second flying unit that needs to boosted by my martyr unit and will attack the weakest opponent.

Venari Marksrat (lvl 8)
This unit is supposed to be killed, so it can boost my adjacent units with its martyr. Note that the snare can be helpful take down any flying unit.

Doctor Blight (lvl 4)
Star unit of this match one of my most played unit. Love it for the poison in combination with the camouflage it an very cheap but powerful unit. In this match i gamble on the fact it can gather enough health with its scavenger to gain more health then that is taken by the earthquake damage.

Clockwork Aide (lvl 6)
Meat shield to protect the back. Earthquake first needs to get rid of all the armor.

Let’s break down this battle lineup! My opponent has gone with a Gladius unit, which is always a wildcard. Once that Bloodlust kicks in, it can quickly become a serious problem. Plus, with its scavenger, it looks like they’re counting on it to survive the earthquake damage.

Also my opponent got some solid synergy with a well-placed Weapon Training boosting two of his key units. But the real ace up my sleeve? Doctor Blight and that devastating poison! I have a feeling that’s going to tip the scales in my favor.

Let’s dive into the action and see how it all plays out!

Round 1:

image.png
It’s not the best start—my Blinding Reflector is already down, and I’ve taken some hits from Magic Reflect damage. On the bright side, Helmet Kharafax didn’t manage to deal a fatal blow, so I’m hanging in there.

His Xenith Monk is doing a great job healing itself, which is a bit concerning. That unit could really stall things if it stays alive too long. Still, I’m confident that once the Monk goes down, I’ll take control of the match.

One thing I noticed: I was expecting magic damage from my opponent, but I completely forgot to bring an Amplify unit to boost my Magic Reflect. Definitely a missed opportunity there!

Round 2:

image.png
Doctor Blight’s poison comes through, taking out the Xenith Monk! With that healing menace out of the way, I can shift my focus to the bigger threat—Helmet Kharafax.

This unit is no joke, especially now that it’s dealing 4 damage per attack. That’s a serious problem, but I’ve still got the numbers on my side. As long as my remaining units stay strong, I’m confident they can take it down.

Round 3:

Helmet Kharafax just took out another unit, and now it’s boosted again! It’s wild to see how it gains extra health thanks to Scavenger—double the pain for me! 😅

But even with all that power, I’m not too worried. Between the relentless earthquake damage and Doctor Blight’s poison, it’s only a matter of time before Kharafax is taken out. Once that happens, this match is as good as mine.

Round 4:

And that’s the game! The last unit, Helmet Kharafax, couldn’t hold out any longer and was finally taken down. Victory is mine! 🎉

Doctor Blight’s poison and the earthquake damage sealed the deal, proving once again that a solid strategy can handle even the toughest opponents.

Conclusion

This was just one match showcasing the incredible teamwork between Lux and Doctor Blight. These two have been key players in my lineup all year—out of the 3,284 matches I’ve played with Lux and the 1,421 battles featuring Doctor Blight, picking the best battle of the year was no easy task!

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed watching this match unfold as much as I did. Here’s to more epic battles and strategies, lets continue to have a look into the future!

My Splinterlands Goals for 2025

This time I found it challenging to set myself some concrete goals. Here is what i have defined.

  1. Scaling Down to One Account:
Currently, I manage three separate accounts, but I’ve decided to streamline my gameplay and focus on just one main account.
I want to play manually again, without the distractions of juggling multiple profiles.
By focusing on a single account, I’ll be able to invest more time into strategy and enjoy the game more deeply.
This goal this might change over time depending on time i can spend playing earning by my bot and my manually playing.

  2. Investing in the upcoming core edition or mini Set:
In terms of investment, I’m aiming to put $800 into the next major expansion.
This is an increase from the $500 I invested in the previous (Rebellion) edition, and I’m excited to see the new cards and strategies that come with it.
The extra (300$) budget comes from blog earnings, including posts like this one, which I’ve been saving to reinvest into Splinterlands. Part is going to growing my Hive account other part is into HBD saving for this new edition that is coming.
Lately i become more aware to also invest more into hive and the total community. And explore other communities. I have balanced the earning and power down to grow slowly in hive and splinterland.

  3. Improving My Open Source Splinterlands Statistics Tool:
Another personal goal is to continue developing my free, open-source Splinterlands statistics tool.
This tool has been a passion project, and I’m eager to keep improving it to help the community track their progress and optimize their gameplay.

  4. Staying Active in My Guild:
I plan to remain active in guild brawls, contributing to my team’s success.
Being part of a supportive and engaged guild, especially one that hosts weekly voice chats on Discord, has been one of my favorite aspects of Splinterlands.
I’ll continue to participate and help out wherever I can, enjoying the camaraderie and shared victories and losses.

  5. Becoming a Card Collector:
Lastly, One of my long-term goals is to gaining the title (discord) card collector, with the ambitious target of owning 2.5 Million Collection Power (CP). This is a challenging and costly goal, as it requires a substantial investment. However, I believe that with time and dedication, perhaps over the course of a few expansions, I can steadily build up my collection. It’s a long-term goal, but one that will not only enhance my gameplay but also allow me to have more flexibility in ranked play and guild brawls.

That's all for this week hope you enjoyed reading this. See you all on the battlefield.
