Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will be showing you a battle in the modern ranked league against powerful magic monsters like Rage dragon.

First, let's talk a little bit about Olivia of the Brook, who I will be playing this battle, an epic light unit with magic and melee attack, very useful in long lasting battles.

Olivia has two regular abilities, Opportunity (allows her to attack the lowest health enemy unit) and Reflection Shield (cannot take damage from sources such asThorns and Blast).

But the main feature that makes Olivia a very special card is that she is currently the only unit that has the Mimic ability, which she obtains at level 2. This ability allows her to gain a random ability from enemy units at the start of each round, starting from the second round. And if enemy unit succesfully attacks her, she has a 25% chance to gain a random ability from the attacker. So, she has two methods of obtaining abilities, making her one of the best units in the late game.

Olivia cannot obtain certain abilities such as:

DEBILITATIONS

TARGETING ABILITIES

OTHER ABILITIES

It's a good thing she can't get Debilitations or it would be bad for her and her team. But she can still get the Kindrek Spirit and Kindrek Will abilities from Pallus and Riklauniman, which is pointless since both skills only work at the beginning of the battle.

Now, let's go to the battle where only two rulesets will be active: Equalizer, which sets the health of all units on the battlefield to the unit that has the highest base health at the start of the battle. And the Stampede ruleset, which allows the trample ability (which when an enemy is defeated performs another attack at the enemy unit's next position) to trigger multiple times after the trampled unit is defeated.

I choose the legendary Eternal Tofu as my summoner, mostly because I want my units to have the Thorns ability, unfortunately the opponent used only magic units. Anyway, Tofu is still very useful by giving the Triage and Scavenger ability to Olivia, so she can heal an backline unit and gain +1 max health when any unit is defeated.

Grimbardun Fighter in the first position, who takes less damage from melee enemies thanks to his shield, but this won't be of much use this time. In the second position, Djinn Renova to heal an backline unit and passively increase +1 health to all allies.

Then I played with 2 magic units, which are usually played together, Adelade Brightwing and Iziar, due Iziar's taunt ability that forces enemies to attack her, she has higher chance of being defeated first and because of that she will buff her adjacent allies by 1 to all stats thanks to her Martyr ability. And thanks to Adelade, she will ressurect Iziar, so 2 units can be buffed once again with +1 stats, which is very useful.

In the fourth position the protagonist of the battle Olivia of the Brook, ready to copy some abilities, if not all. And Venka in the last position to take advantage of the Stampede ruleset.

The first round was very quiet as many units on the board had healing abilities, even the summoner of the enemy units. So, it was not until the third round, than a unit was defeatead, Iziar was the first victim of Rage dragon, but thanks to Adelade Brightwing, Iziar is resurrected.

In the sixth round, Iziar is defeated once again by Rage dragon, and Iziar is ressurected again this time by Olivia who copied the resurrected ability of Oshuur Constantia.

In the seventh round, Grimbardun Fighter is defeated by Djinn Oshannus.

In the ninth round, Iziar is definitely defeated this time by Oshuur Constantia. Thanks to Iziar's Martyr ability being defeated three times, Olivia and Adelade gained +3 to all stats.

In the tenth round, my Djinn Renova is defeated by Runeseer Sevaya. In the eleventh round, Adelade Brightwing is defeated by Oshuur Constantia.

Unfortunately, in the twelfth round, due to Anasth Sootsayer's Dispel ability, Olivia loses all the stats she gained from Iziar, and loses the Life Leech ability.

Starting at round 21, as there are still units on the battlefield , the fatigue effect takes action, dealing 1 damage to all units, increasing by +1 damage each round subsequent round.

In the round 27, three enemy units were unable to survive the 7 damage caused by the fatigue effect.

In the round 28, Djinn Oshannus is also another victim of the fatigue effect. And Venka the Vile destroys Baakjira, dealing 14 damage to it due to the Oppress ability. Now, the Rage dragon is the only enemy to defeat.

In the round 31, Venka the Vile is defeated by the fatigue effect. And in the round 32, Rage dragon could not resist any longer and was defeated like many units by the fatigue effect, which inflicted 12 damage on it.

image.png Full Battle

Before Rage dragon was defeated by the fatigue, Olivia thanks to the Life leech ability gained up to 41 max HP, what does that mean? Because she had copied both the Heal and Tank Heal ability, each of which recovers 1/3 part of her health, she was able to heal herself up to 13 HP for each, a total of 26 HP per round.

Olivia was able to survive against the 5 magic units, thanks to having copied the Void ability, which reduces the magic damage by 50% less. Dispel abilities like the one Anasth had are very useful against her, but because she had copied the Cleanse ability, she could regain the ability she lost every turn. Also, of course, due she has two healings, the Heal and the Tank heal ability. She may have lost the buff attack due to Anasth, and was unable to do much damage, but the fatigue effect damage increasing +1 every round, starting from round 21, was the key to defeating 5 enemy units.
