Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I want to share a battle with all the strategic and deck-building skills from an arsenal of monsters. That is why, this battle deserves to be on the battle of the day spot with the other top-tier posts.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 44 and there are 4 summoners to choose from: Fire, Nature, Life, and Death.
Battle Rules:-
- Are you not entertained?: One additional gladiator cad may be used in battle.
- Blood and Sunder: All units gain corrosive ward.
- Rise of the commons: Only common and rare monsters may be used in battle.
Using the battle rules and keeping the mana cap in mind, any party can easily make up the deck with the vicious monsters in a certain lineup that could be centered around 3 or even 4 monsters which is more than enough, given that they might cost a huge mana, to carry a team.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in Hp and magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(level 5)
Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns, Heal).
Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak, Cripple).
Ranged Attackers: Queen of Crows(Ability: Close Range, Headwinds), Liza Fox(Ability: bloodlust), Dhampir Stalker(Ability: True strike, Deathblow).
My strategy was to hit the enemy deck from all sides while trying to decrease his overall damage using the headwinds ability. I took a chance with the bloodlust attacker and hoped it would get to finish up the enemy team by triggering that ability. Most importantly, I ensured a sustainable tank with strong support hence I chose Windeku as a tank and Thug just behind it.
My overall damage per round is 21 and 3 healing.
Now for the opposition's turn.
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in Hp and magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 4)
Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns).
Blocked Melee attacker: Disintegrater(Ability: Demoralize, trample).
Melee Attacker: Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak).
Ranged Attackers: Supply Runner(Ability: Swiftness), Daigendark Hunter(Ability: Sneak).
Magic Attacker: Helheim Demon(Ability: Flying, Taunt).
His strategy was to reduce my overall melee damage by 1 while diverting all the incoming damage toward a single tank and attacking me from the back and front with equal damage.
His overall damage per round is 13.
Major Events
The first enemy to fall was my Sha-vi as his damage from the backlines along with the increased speed, made his deck a force to be reckoned with.
At the end of the round, his Demon falls thanks to my Fox, and thus a bloodlust was triggered. My overall damage was down by 2 only.
Next, it was my Stalker who fell thanks to his sneak attackers of the round that had started.
Soon after, his tank followed my ranged attacker and bit the dust thanks to my Fox and triggered the bloodlust. Thus, both of our overall damage per round was lowered significantly.
Fox shot first at the start of the round and triggered the bloodlust again. Thus, my original melee damage was restored.
At the very start of the round, Liza eliminates his Sha-vi and gains a stats boost, thus his Supply Runner was a mere pawn with 0 defense.
And finally, Liza deleted the last standing enemy with a crushing damage of 8 and triggered her bloodlust* again.
Results
At first glance, his deck is super realistic except for the Dinintegrater. That used up the space of a potential attacker who could've supported his tank like my Arachne Thug did to my tank. His strategy to hit me from the back was a huge success and if my Liza had missed one shot, it would've been game over for me long ago. And, I got an edge with the tank as mine could self-heal, therefore, it could always return to its full HP.
The heal for your windeku was a game changer there! Nice battle!
Yep, a little edge over the opposition made it significant overtime.
