The Magi of the Chaosium are the heralds of the Legion itself. For hundreds of years they met and studied in secret, gathering ancient artifacts and scraps of forbidden knowledge, much that was once thought lost. The Stats Magi of Chaos

The Magic of Chaos is a neutral epic card with good stats and only one ability, but he will receive that on level 5 and 6. The ability, which he will get is the Opress, which means that he will do double damage on an enemy monster when attacking a monster with no attack damage. His mana cost is 6, which is an easy fit into any team especially with Obsidian who give +1 magic attack damage to all of her friendly creatures.

The ruleset was Standard, which is mean no modification to the standard gameplay rules and mechanics.
Low mana ruleset, because the mana is under 30.

The Battle

I brought Kelya to the battle to lead my army and my plan was to give a hand to my Djinn Oshannus until my magic attack creatures will kill their monsters one by one. I choose monsters with magic damage and Djinn Oshannus as my main tank plus Merdaali Guardian to heal the Djinn when he falls into the tank position. Kelya gives one armor and speed to all of my creatures, which is quite strong on its own.

My opponent brought a full magic attack team with a tank healer as well. The opponent choose the Obsidian as a summoner, who gives +1 magic attack to all of her friendly creatures.

My strategy to use the armor and speed from Kelya didn't work, because my opponent used Obsidian and assembled a full magic attack team. Her monsters with magic attack ignored my armor from Kelya and the Regal Peryton as the enemy tank was very fast and had the flying ability.

Luckily I won this battle, because the Djinn Oshannus is a perfect protection against this kind of team. I have to thank to the magic damage from the Magi of Chaos, because I was able kill their "fast" and flying tank easily, so he couldn't dodge too much attack from me.

Do you like the Magi of Chaos? Why or why not?

What I like in him is the 2 magic attack and 5 health on level 1. His cost is not too cheap, which is 6 mana, so he need at least a battle for around 20-30 mana cap to use him effectively. I miss that he doesn't have any ability until level 5, which could be helpful in the battles. He will get Oppress ability on level 5, but even that ability is not the strongest from the others. We can use him in every Splinter, because he is a neutral monster and it might be a good idea to buy a copy from him.
