I'm going to show you the first panel from the Halving blocks series I made earlier this year.
First some world about the series itself. The artworks will be dedicated to the blocks in the network such as 210,000, 420,000, 630,000 which have marked all 4 year cycles so far reducing the reward per block mined with 50%. In addition to these three panels to be made next, the series also includes the Genesis panel which is the material manifestation of the Genesis block mined by Satoshi on January 3, 2009. With this four panels the collection will not be complete. Panels to this collection will also be made for blocks numbers 840,000, 1,050,000, 1,260,000, etc.
As usual, the first step was to come up with the project. The design of the 2d program took me about a month, once I had some results I moved on to the 3d visualization to make sure everything was as I imagined it.
As always, there were a few fixes to make to the 2d project and after a few more days I jumped to the color variations in 3d . I had a satisfactory result in several tries that were evolving in my head during the creation process.
Finally after more than a month I was ready to start the actual work of cutting and gluing the individual layers. The final part of assembling the panel took me about two weeks. I was very pleased with the end result.
in the center of the Genesis block I put the quote that was written by Satoshi himself on the 3rd of January 2009, with the mining of the first block in the bitcoin network. It is a foundational piece of Bitcoin history and I felt it was absolutely essential to have it presented on the artwork.
